The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about REI Bell Traveler with Clip Grip:
Like everyone said -- the insulation sucks (I'll get a good 45 minutes of WARMTH, maybe 15-20 of HOT) but the worst part, in my opinion, is that the logo melts off. It feels gross on my hand, though I haven't seen it stain any of my stuff yet. Money would be better spent on a proper thermos.

Comments about REI Bell Traveler with Clip Grip:
I have been trying to find a coffee mug that works great for a long time and have had the worst luck.
I've spent good money on several popular brands of the pop top mugs that never leak, however I found they develop a sour milk smell in the lid that is nauseating when trying to drink out of them.
I've had other mugs that insulate well, but have a terrible seal and leaked coffee all over my backpack or car.
Finally, when I almost gave up all hope I found this mug. It fits perfectly in my cup holder, there is no sour milk smell if I leave it in my car unwashed for multiple days (gross I know), and it NEVER leaks. I really do mean never. I once left it in the cubby of a friends boat filled with coffee as we motored across Puget Sound. He later found it and expected the contents to be spilled everywhere after the bumpy ride, but no!
I've found that contents seem to get cold quickly after you start drinking from it, and the label peels off over time; however these cons cannot keep me from endorsing this mug.
If you're a reckless person like me who wants warm coffee/tea in a safe and easy to drink container get this mug.

I was expecting a top of the line mug for the [$] I spent for it. Unfortunately, this didn't live up to expectations. My coffee was cold after a short (15-minute) car trip. It didn't insulate or keep the beverage hot at all! I agree with other reviewers about the black REI logo becoming sticky. It got very sticky almost immediately when I poured hot coffee into it. In the end, I returned this mug and got my money back. I went [$] and got two great mugs for the same price as the 1 mug at REI. The [...]mugs kept my coffee hot for hours! Don't buy this item- it's not worth the money.

Comments about REI Bell Traveler with Clip Grip:
For years I looked for a mug/thermos that didn't come with a notice saying something to the effect that "this thermos is not intended to keep hot liquids hot." When I found this mug, saying it was intended to keep liquids hot, I jumped on it. The first time I poured boiling water into it, the logo got sticky and I am in the process of scraping it off. Otherwise, it is just what I wanted. I pour boiling water in it, and with the lid open, my tea stays drinkably warm for 2 hours or more. Granted, I don't like scalding hot tea, it takes 10-15 minutes before tea made in a ceramic mug is cool enough for me to enjoy. I haven't used the clip, but the handle wiggles, so I am curious how long it will be before it breaks. I don't care about the logo, but I think that if the cup has one, it should be of good quality. Bottom line: I have used this cup everyday since I bought it.

Comments about REI Bell Traveler with Clip Grip:
Overall very good design. I had NO problems with the thermal resistance capabilities. It kept my hot coffee delicous for quite some time and the handle was comfortable to hold. The flip top lid locks securely in place and has an opening big enough to make it easy to sip. The screw top lid stays on very securely as well. The metal sidewall construction is rugged yet lightweight and takes a beating. The wide mouth design makes it easy to clean, but the narrow bottom diameter makes it easy to use in your car as well. My only issue is that the clip on handle is weak, bends alot, and easily comes unclipped, so be sure to stow this cup INSIDE your backpack.

I was excited to find a mug that fit the Ram mount cup holder that goes in our car/camper etc. The shape and size are good. The non spill lid works great. The double wall insulation is defective. I purchased the first one in Chicago (4 1/2 hr drive). The outside of the mug got hot soon after pouring in hot liquid. Assuming this was a chance defect and after talking to the store (very helpful and nice) I ordered a replacement with the intent to return defect via mail. Well, the replacement has the same issue. One other time when we purchased 2 identical mugs from a coffee house one worked great the other didn't. Seems to be an issue with the vacuum insulation and QC.

As a teacher who has had WAY too many coffee spills, this coffee cup has saved many papers this year. With all other screw/pop lid coffee cups I've owned, this one seems to keep my coffee spills to the minimum. I've dumped it down stairs (not recommended), and the lid stayed closed. I've had students knock it off my desk (again, not recommended), and the lid stays closed. It keeps my coffee hot for about an hour (at this point, I gulp down whatever is left in the cup, and call it a day). It's easy to clean, and has stood the test of time (survived a year of middle school).
My family owns 4 and we all are completely satisfied. I am purchasing another one for a co-worker (I'm tired of her spilling her coffee).

Love this mug! It keeps my coffee HOT and never leaks. Only disadvantage is not being able to toss it in the dishwasher.

I, too, was surprised that the reviews for this were so terrible. I LOVE this mug. I haven't had any issues with melting logos, or shoddy handles/clips. My drink stays HOT during my 45 minute commute and satisfyingly warm WELL into my three hour class. The lid stays on tightly, enough so that I often hook my full (of boiling hot coffee) mug onto my messenger bag for the bus ride and walk to class without any issues.
Some people complained that the outside does get pretty warm. That IS the case with mine, but I like it for the extra warmth for my hands, so to each her own. I'd absolutely recommend this to a friend as I'm probably going to get another one for myself soon.

Comments about REI Bell Traveler with Clip Grip:
This is the best and only travel mug I will own. I have four criteria for the perfect travel mug: metallic for good insulation, large enough to fit a hand into to properly clean, fits into cup holders, and seals 100%. This mug meets all four of these and the carabiner handle is an added bonus. I have searched far and wide for a mug like this one. My coffee is still hot enough to burn my tongue after my 30min commute to work. I can throw it in a bag or hang it from a backpack strap and it will not leak a drop. I have had no problems with the logo melting. I've dropped it a few times and it shows no signs of wear. I love it so much I'm ordering one for my husband today!
