Comments about Oakley Flak Jacket Polarized Sunglasses:
I bought these in 2010 and was very pleased with the fit and style, I'm very particular about my gear and take good care of it; unfortunately about a year and a half after owning these the polarization lens started to get tiny bubbles that were not scratches, I happened to be visiting in southern California and decided to go to the Oakley headquarters in Foothill Ranch, where I inquired about what was wrong with my lenses, I was told by their customer service that it was caused by little tiny beads of sweat and oil eating away at the polarization. I'm pretty good about cleaning my sunglasses and have never seen this before on any of my other polarized glasses, needless to say I was very disappointed to find out that Oakley does not stand behind their products and offered below par customer service, they asked me if I had a receipt, who keeps their receipt for more than a year? And also they stated that even if I had a receipt it is out of their 1 year replacement policy, I feel like this is a defect on their end because they never stated on any of their instructions about making sure the sunglasses are not just cleaned with the cleaning cloth they provide but to use water as well to make sure you get 100% of sweat and oils off. I always cleaned them with only the cloth they provided, I feel like they have gotten too big to care about one small customer. Never again Oakley as all of your competitors are glad to give you replacement lenses on something so minor. Thank GOD for REI as they will stand behind all of the products they sell. I hope no one ever has to deal with Oakley customer service.

Comments about Oakley Flak Jacket Polarized Sunglasses:
I use these sun glasses for just about everything under the sun! Stylish and comfortable is for sure!
My only problem was after wearing them for a couple months, the paint on the frame near where my eyebrows are wrinkles and peels off. 2X, I went through this exchanging them for a new pair. I just gave up and nobody really sees the defect unless I take them off and show them. Otherwise, these are the best!

Comments about Oakley Flak Jacket Polarized Sunglasses:
I've been a die-hard Oakley user since the turn of the millenium. I first bought a pair of Oakley XX's, which I have always loved. I initially used the XX's for sport and backcountry use. After upgrading to the Flak Jacket, I still carry the XX's as a spare pair of sunglasses on long trips. I myself have never suffered a sunglass fatality, but some of my hiking partners have, and my spare pair has bailed them out. I then purchased a pair of Oakley E-wire's, which I also love and use for around the town use. Then, in the spring of 2007, I purchased a pair of polarized Oakley Flak Jackets.
The Flak Jacket is an AMAZING pair of sunglasses. The frame is flexible and can withstand bending and abuse that would typically break or permanently damage a frame. The lenses, like all Oakley lenses, are unbeatable. I have always purchased the Black Iridium lenses and I have always been impressed by their clarity. The color is phenomenal and they block out bright light, even reflecting off a snow field.
The lenses are interchangeable, which is a convenient feature. There are two styles of lenses. I originally purchased the standard lens, but I recently ordered prescription lenses from Oakley, so that I don't have to wear contacts under my Oakleys. For my prescription lenses, I ordered the XLJ version of the lens, which provides more coverage. I used the standard lenses for a year and they work great, but I am excited about the larger XLJ lenses. And changing between sets of lenses is quick and easy.
And, oh yeah, these sunglasses look really hard-core. Indeed, they are really hard-core. Definitely recommend.
