I'm pretty picky when it comes to food but this stew is pretty good. It's got a decent taste and is fast and easy to prepare.

Comments about Mountain House Beef Stew - 4 Serving:
Well I bought several Mountain House products the other day. I had to try one out before I actually hit the trail in the smoky mountains. So i got out my nice titanium pans that i use for camping and i boiled some water within a couple mins added the contents out of the package into the pan and put the fry pan lid on top and let the contents absorb the water. It didn't look the best but it sure did taste great!
The reason why i emptied the contents into the pan instead of pouring the water into the bag is well lets say i am a pan eater. i prefer to eat out of a pan than a bag.

Comments about Mountain House Beef Stew - 4 Serving:
As the single non-meat eater on backpacking trips and the designated 'cook' for the family, I prepared this; although it didn't look appetizing to me, everyone that ate it really liked it. In fact, they liked it much better than any other freeze-dried entree (with meat) that I have seen them eat, so much that after the first time we purchased it, they wanted for the very next trip out. Can't endorse it much more than saying that the same people wanted to eat it one weekend after the other!
There is a lot of food in the package, and when water is added it really is a large serving and appears to have tons of vegetables in it (as well as meat.)
