These golden kernels cook up nicely with hot water and really add a nice crunch to the sometimes "mushy" texture to some of the freeze-dried entress. My kids really like the corn because it is sweet as fresh or frozen. We add it to MH Beef Stew or Turkey Tetrazzini. YUM! Easy to fix, almost no mess, and little trash. Great for backpacking. Like all freeze-dried foods we've tried I'd double on portions. Two-Person packs really only serve one person after a long day of hiking.

I've actually never eaten this by itself, I always mix it in with beef stew or another meal to make it more substantial.

Tastes great and my 12yo daughter likes it too.

Freeze-dried corn is a great addition to making your own salsa when backpacking. (Check out the Harmony House Foods sampler pack that REI also carries for the other items needed). Freeze-dried corn rehydrates quickly unlike dehydrated for quick dinners.
