Comments about Oregon Scientific ATC-2000 Helmet Cam:
You can have a lot of fun with this thing. I use it for paintball, mountain biking and recently, a video of my first motorcycle ride! Video quality is decent; not professional, but hey. Make sure you test your setup first, or you'll be filming the ground. The menu is a little difficult to navigate and the buttons are sometimes hard to push (especially with gloved hands) but getting it started only takes two button presses.

Comments about Oregon Scientific ATC-2000 Helmet Cam:
I bought this camera to protect myself in the event someone causes an accident while I'm riding my motorcycle. I think riding with the camera makes me a safer rider since I know I'm being recorded.
It is a good quality camera and comes with a good mount suitable for handlebar mounting, however the vibrations of my 600CC Honda motorcycle cause the video to have a weird "under water" type effect, especially under acceleration. Not the fault of the camera, but still a consideration.
The video is usually clear and records about 1.5 hours at 15 FPS. The camera takes a long time to adjust when going from Bright sunlight to shade, and shows a very dark picture for about 5 seconds. Nighttime is worthless. You can't see anything at all. Since I commute mostly during the daylight hours this is not a major problem for me.
The menu is very hard to understand and once you understand, the controls are very hard to use. This also is not a major problem since I always use the same settings, but be warned... it's easy to accidentally delete your videos.
The transfer times are SLOW. Almost an hour to move a 1 hour video using the supplied USB cable. If you use a USB 2.0 card reader, this is cut to about 5 minutes, but you will need to remove the SD card from the unit.
Battery life seems to be about 5 hours using alkaline batteries. You are limited to SD cards of 2GB or smaller.
The sound of the motorcycle completely overwhelms the mic on this thing and makes it pretty much worthless. I don't even record sound anymore. If you are using this device on a bicycle or skateboard, it might be OK.
