Comments about MSR AutoFlow Gravity Filter:
Drinkable water in camp is no longer a half-hour chore by the stream. Great product.
One down side: MSR recommends the user backflow the filter after filtering each 8 liters of water. Problem is that when using a Nalgene bottle or a camelbak, a sucton is formed and no liquid will reverse flow through the filter. I sent the system back to Cascade Designs and they drilled a hole in the "Universal Cap." This should fix issue for me, but I don't think a design change is soon planned.

Comments about MSR AutoFlow Gravity Filter:
We used this on a 14 day backpack on the Wonderland Trail around Mt. Rainier. What a fabulous addition to our gear. Just fill it up, hang by a tree knob, and turn it on and off at will like a faucet. Wonderful water, usually only one trip to the creek to scoop it up. Then, you filter the water at camp by gravity at will. Unbelievably cool. We also carried a Steripen for use if we needed more water during the backpacking day.

Comments about MSR AutoFlow Gravity Filter:
Four of us just got back from 10 days in the southern High Sierra and we all agreed that this system is great! We had a Miniworks for backup just in case and we did not use it at all. This system is very simple to use. We found that we could always find a branch or rock to hang the reservoir on but sometimes you have to get the air bubbles out of the hoses...also we found that it worked better if you left the adapter loose on the Nalgene bottle so air could escape...other than that it worked perfectly, no downside that we could see.

Comments about MSR AutoFlow Gravity Filter:
This is a great filter system. Used it for 4 people in the High Sierras in October and it was fantastic. Just fill it up, let it hang and attach it to your bladder while you set up camp. That easy. Back flush every once in awhile for maintenance, which is turning the filter around and reversing the process to clean it out.The ONLY concern is that the hollow fiber technology used by MSR for this and the Mini-works are not suppose to freeze. It got down to 25 on the trip so put the filter part inside at the bottom of my sleeping bag and it was fine. Best filter I have used. You can just have 4+ liters of water just hanging (literally) around camp for filling up cooking pots, cleaning or whatever.
