Comments about Mammut Mirage Harness:
This harness is great but unlike other models, the waist belt padding does not come all the way forward leading to uncomfortable pressure on your sides.

Comments about Mammut Mirage Harness:
This harness is great for beginners because of the price and simplicity.
More avid climbers tend to get a harness with a bit more padding as they climb multi pitch routes.
Great for the athletic body styles but the slightly heavier people will have problems with this harness as it is so narrow along the front and around the legs.

Comments about Mammut Mirage Harness:
Use the product for cragging and gym. I've had it about 4 weeks and have done sport climbs, multi-pitch trad climbs, gym climbing and even some light aid with it. I purchased it for the fit and comfort. Features I liked were the larger rear gear loops, the red stitching on the double back leg loops, the auto-buckle on the belt, and the plastic protector piece on the tie in point.
After using the harness for a while, what I don't like is on me, the right side gear loops tend to be a bit far back while the left side is farther forward. (This is with the belay loop centered.) This also causes the haul loop to be somewhat off center as well. Also, when rappelling, the plastic protector piece makes disconcerting noises while rubbing against the other tie in point.

Comments about Mammut Mirage Harness:
Comfortable and versatile, mine has about 100 days of use on it and is still ticking. This is a lot of harness! I like the taper of the waist, it is comfortable while allowing a lot of freedom to move.

Comments about Mammut Mirage Harness:
My first Mammut harness was the Focus which I used for about two years. It was in perfect condition but I wanted an idiot proof waist buckle so I bought the Mirage. Because the waist belt is a little short, it is not a big improvement over the Focus. But Mammut puts a hard plastic sheath around the webbing that joins the leg loops. This is a high wear spot and the addition makes perfect sense, extending harness life and safety. This harness is as good or better than the other harnesses on the market and a great buy.

Comments about Mammut Mirage Harness:
Time for a new harness. Saw the price, saw the brand, jumped at it. Great harness for indoor rec climbing and outdoor climbing...wouldn't recommend for extensive, long climbs-harness has a tendency to chafe.

Comments about Mammut Mirage Harness:
This harness is very strong, and very easy to put on. It lacks the Petzl quick straps, but it does have a simple to use main belt, and the wear protection is great in all cases. I have taken a 50 foot fall in it and it held comfortably, so no complaints there. The gear loops are a bit too close to the harness for my comfort, and there is no place to solidly mount a chalk bag, but there never is. I would suggest going for a Petzl if you can afford it, but this is a very good harness at an extremely reasonable price.
