Comments about Arc'teryx R320 Climbing Harness:
I recently received this harness as a birthday gift and put it to use in a rock gym the next day. It's true; it's like wearing no harness at all. I then read the REI reviews and the complaints about attaching gear to the belay loop. The user information states. "Do not employ any attachment system that causes undue direct friction to the belay loop or either of the tie-in points." Does a daisy chain, when not in use, apply friction? If a daisy chain is in use, is resultant friction "undue?" Does tying in a rope to the tie-in points cause "undue friction?" I think some of the criticisms of this harness represent a misunderstanding of the manufacturer's instructions.
It is a fantastic harness, but pricey.

Comments about Arc'teryx R320 Climbing Harness:
I climb five times a weak. Indoors when raining, and outside when dry. Climb sport, and trad both multi pitch. I do not like the light weight gear loops, light haul line, or the suggested no girth hitching on the belay loop. I thought this harness would be a little more hard core for the serious climber.

Comments about Arc'teryx R320 Climbing Harness:
Good fit, slim, and comfortable. Should only be
used for top roping. Girth hitching of any personal anchor system on belay loop is not allowed by directions. Haul line has a 30 plus lbs. weight limit, and gear loops 17 lbs. Research all products before buying. I should have.

Comments about Arc'teryx R320 Climbing Harness:
This harness is amazing! Let me first describe my use: I climb 4 days a week and climb outside every other weekend (midwest life aint easy!), I'm 6'6" and weigh 195 and take about 10 decent whippers every session. Point is, you can't be any harder on a harness than I am, and this one gets my major seal of approval! Super comfortable, I've even done route setting and developing in this harness and it outperforms every 'high padding' harness I've had in the past. On top of all that, it is extremely light weight, but even more important is the slim fit. No extra bulk here, it is often hard to tell it is even there as you climb. Even though I love this harness and would recommend it to anyone, there are some cons that I will list:The sizing is a bit wierd. I am a 34 inch waist and originally had a large. I had to tighten it all the way down to get the appropriate fit, whereas a large has always worked for me in the past with other companies. I now have a medium and it fits perfectly, even with my height, so maybe consider going down one size from what you normally might. Also, the front gear loops are a bit forward and put your quickdraws literally in your crotch. However, I believe you can actually take the gear loops off and just spin them so they load towards the back, or you could just use the back set of gear loops instead. Final con, and this is the big one: After having the harness for about eight months I noticed that the lower tie-in point was worn through well past the orange warning fabric. For [$], this should not be happening so quickly (do keep in mind how hard I am on a harness). One other friend was having the same problem. I contacted Arcteryx and they said it was a potential problem with the adhesive they used that was causing it to wear so quickly. The great thing, they accepted my busted harness with no receipts and no questions asked and sent me a brand new one at no charge to me. I do believe they have since fixed this potential adhesive problem. There's the good and the bad, but the pros absolutely outweigh the cons in my opinion. Everyone I know that owns this harness has said they will never switch to another as long as arcteryx keeps producing this product (or until the next best thing comes out). Buy one, now!

Comments about Arc'teryx R320 Climbing Harness:
I was skeptical of paying this much for a harness, cuz honestly, I could use this money towards expanding my rack!
But after taking a good look at my harness I decided on trying this thing out and wow! When I'm wearing it I would hardly know its on my body if it weren't for the weight of the gear on the sides!
I've taken a whipper or two on it and never felt more secure in a harness! Absolutely no bruising either. Totally worth the cash.

Comments about Arc'teryx R320 Climbing Harness:
I often am in my harness for 10+ hours at a time, and I'm very pleased by how comfortable the R320 has performed. I must say I was skeptical at first because it's so freakin light and the waist band seems just too thin. Clearly Arc'Teryx does their research, cause this product far exceeded my expectations.

Comments about Arc'teryx R320 Climbing Harness:
The wrap around waist part of this harness is a dream, but the leg loops are too small! A reviewer for climbing mag found that they lost feeling in their legs while hanging for more than just a brief period of time and I found the exact same thing. For the price, that is not a good thing. Make sure this will fit your legs, not just your waist.

Comments about Arc'teryx R320 Climbing Harness:
Haven't taken any whippers in it yet, but looking forward to it.(that normal?) Would recommend for anyone that is looking to increase comfort and ease of movement (feels non-existent). Cost is up there so I suggest waiting for a member coupon or your yearly dividend, unless you have the green. I was surprised at the stability of the leg loops I was thinking that the edges would curl when weighted.
As for the sizing im around a 32/33 and Medium works well with room to spare on waist, legs felt good but I have larger legs

Comments about Arc'teryx R320 Climbing Harness:
There is nothing wrong with my old harness.
I like nice things but I just couldn't justify getting this harness since there really is nothing wrong with my old one. So, I promised myself that if and when I climb a 5.11, I would treat myself to this fancy harness.
Totally worth it. (recycle the tin)

Comments about Arc'teryx R320 Climbing Harness:
It is great. It is the best I have used and I will probably not go with another brand again for a harness given how great this one is. Regarding the previous sizing comment, I am 6' and have a 31 waist and a small was WAY too small for me, both vertically and in circumference. Medium works perfect!
