Comments about Yakima StickUp Hitch Rack - 2 Bike:
This hitch rack was a gift and I've used it quite a few times now and am still loving it. Though the rack did require assembly, Yakima's instructions were flawless and everything went together easily.
Compared to other racks I've used in the past, the hitch came with the 2" adapter pre-installed and it fit snugly in the receiver and tightened easily using the included wrench (though a ratchet is much faster). The rack rides extremely stable and holds the bikes snugly.
For mountain bikes with tires much wider than 2.25" (especially with aggressive tread) you may have trouble getting the front wheel to sit snugly into the wire holder, though the back wheel tray seems to be no problem.

Comments about Yakima StickUp Hitch Rack - 2 Bike:
1. This is the best rack for low clearance cars. Notice how the rack curves up before it goes out. The Thule rack does not do this. This is one of the most important aspects of this rack.
2. There is space BETWEEN the bikes. I can't stand the racks that mush the bikes together and pedals are getting caught in another bike's spokes. I love this feature.
3. It is pretty light and really, really, easy to use. Not only is it easy to get bikes on and off (literally less than a minute for 2 bikes), but taking the rack on and off the car is also easy.
4. Caution - when you get your hitch installed it may have physical features that do not allow you to use the tools Yakima gives you to get the rack on and off the car. I had my hitch installed ratchet/socket wrench not just the wrench that they give you with the rack. Actually, it is easier and better, so I wasn't really disappointed.
5. I purchased the very simple lock (to lock the rack, not the bikes) for $27 and it was worth it. It is just a lock covering that give complete peace of mind and is easily installed.
5. Forget Yakima's bike locking system. I just went to a local hardware store and got a 15 foot bike cable and use a regular lock. It is an easy system because the center of the rack provides a place to run the cable through, you don't have to try to loop it through the hitch, no need. So rack is locked to car and bikes are locked to rack. Easy.

Bmx bike is the smallest that will fit. I would not recommend this for kids bikes or bikes with a really low top tube. For mountain and road bikes its great!!

Comments about Yakima StickUp Hitch Rack - 2 Bike:
This is the most awesome hitch mount I have ever bought and ever buy. I did my research before buying this product and when I received it , I was more than happy. The product is easy to assemble and easy to mount. Be sure you are physically fit to perform this exercise. The hitch mount itself is not too heavy but can be cumbersome. The only issue I had with it is that the length of the connecting rod seems to be more than what could go in a hitch with a safety lip. I have a toyota prius and I bought a 1-1/4" drawtite hitch. I realized that the drawtite hitch has a safety lip because of which yakima hitch mount would not go in. [...].The best part is after it folds, I do not have to keep my car outside garage since it folds very compact.

Here are a few things you should know before buying this rack. 1. If you install it on a vehicle with a tailgate, the bike wheel bracket may dent the tailgate when it is lowered. I had to grind off some of the plastic so this would not happen. 2. You will want to build up the frame hook with duct tape or something similar where it contacts the top tube. The frame hook rubbed all the paint off of one of our bike's tube before I discovered this. 3. The integral bottle opener does not work (on craft brew bottles, at least.) Otherwise, it is very easy to use.

THis worked great until I had to haul my girlfriend's bike. The top hook does not go down far enough on a woman's bike or bikes with a low or angled top tube.

Comments about Yakima StickUp Hitch Rack - 2 Bike:
Poor design for FJ Cruiser and freeride bicycle frames. No clearance for rear bike because of spare tire, couldn't get freeride bike to fit under mast hooks, shaky connection to hitch, no clearance for back door to open, and weak bicycle hold down capability. Spare tire rack was more convenient, even with top tube adapters and struggling to lift and connect bikes. I wasted a lot of gas to return this rack.

I have confisdence in Yakima. They stand behind their products and make good stuff.
I found this item a bit large and heavy for my small car 1.1/4 hitch. When it was folded up it could interfere with the rear lights on one side. I found it also to to be heavy. It is still useable and very good but in my openion it works best for larger car or SUV.
I am going to return mine and get something smaller and lighter. I had before a Sport Rack from Canada that folded up but got damaged during a car accident. Something you have to take in consideration when you buy this kind of racks as some one could hit it from behind. Make sure you put some reflective tapes on the mast and the edges to make it visible.

Comments about Yakima StickUp Hitch Rack - 2 Bike:
This is a solid rack. It is relatively simple to install, and it takes me about 20 seconds to load my bike on after a ride. There are just a few drawbacks to this rack. First of all, the hardware (screws, bolts, etc) will rust very easily. I finally had to coat them with a lube/grease to prevent this rusting. With the price you pay for this rack, it seems silly that certain parts rust so easily. Secondly, you have to REALLY make sure you push the arm down on the frame tightly when loading your bike. I didn't for one long trip, and my road bike somehow bounced off the back and dragged on the highway!! Luckily, the damage was very minimal, but the fact that the frame somehow found a way to come under the arm is a little scary. Since then I've had no problems.
Overall though, a good rack worth the money.
