Comments about Petzl Reverso 3 Belay Device:
The main reason I got this device is because it is designed for a wider range of ropes than the original reverso and it has the auto-locking feature when belaying a second. These work well, but I feel there is room for improvement: 10mm ropes are difficult to feed through the device particularly when using the auto-lock; the rope tends to twist when belaying so the end of your rope can get all messy; and the hole used to hook a carabiner and lower the second is a bit small letting very few of my carbiners to actually fit through it. Having said all ths, the device holds a climber very well with little effort, rappels are very well controlled, it's very light, and the auto-locking feature is very reliable.

Comments about Petzl Reverso 3 Belay Device:
I've used this device for both rock and ice climbing and it is by far one of the best I have ever used. The product is lightweight, lowers smoothly and feeds rope easily. The V-notches make rappelling down icy, 8.1mm ropes more controlled and the Reverso function allows for easy belaying of two followers.
Bottom Line: lightest device with both V-notches and auto-lock.

Comments about Petzl Reverso 3 Belay Device:
This is the best belay device on the market. There were a couple of draw backs to the Reverso 1, and the Reverso 2 was seriously lacking. This fixed all the issues. The first generation wore in a way that became sharp and rough on the ropes; giving slack under tension when set as a top belay was near impossible. This device has all subtle angles and a very easy way to lower a second. Rapping is smoother than I expected with the grooved brake side and works incredibly well with both my 10.2 and my double 8.1's.
Compared to the BD Guide this is lighter and has an easier solution to lowering a second under tension in my opinion.
If I am looking to be overly critical I will say there is one slight draw back. If you use a 10.5 rope or larger you may find the device a bit "sticky". When my 10.2 gets wet it is a bit slow as well but still manageable for sure.
Overall this is a brilliant device. It is the only device you need on your harness for belaying, rapping, having an auto-lock top belay for 1 or 2 followers and is useful in rigging and rescue situations.

Comments about Petzl Reverso 3 Belay Device:
Excellent belay device for the money. Has the ability to be used in an auto blocking function which is why I bought it. Can be used with 8mm ropes all the way up to 11 mm though I would recommend a slightly larger atc with 11mm ropes as this device has lots of friction.

Comments about Petzl Reverso 3 Belay Device:
I wasn't sure about a [$] belay device at first, but now I know it was money well spent! I'll never go back to using an ATC. Reverso is very light, it looks small but it fits my 9.8mm rope very well. Friction makes breaking easy. It's a must-have for multi-pitch climbing.

Comments about Petzl Reverso 3 Belay Device:
This ATC is great I use it all the time for long rappels. Gives great frictions for top roping and rappeling. Great design however will not accept large diameter ropes and requires an aggressive bight to get you started. Other than that. I bought one and was easily sold on buying two.

Comments about Petzl Reverso 3 Belay Device:
Though I likeed the old Reverso a little more so, this one has greater stopping power, is lighter and has better control.

Comments about Petzl Reverso 3 Belay Device:
Awesome belay device. I am grew up using the ATC and now the GriGri, but the Reverso gets it done. I originally purchased this for multi-pitch climbing, but now use it at the crags.

Comments about Petzl Reverso 3 Belay Device:
This is one of the best devices on the market for multipitch climbing. Light, super functional, with autoblock function for bringing up 1 or 2 climbers seconding.
All the function of the BD guide (which is a good device), but considerably lighter with the additional ability to lower without setting up a tricky pulley system like most others.
Best in class for this type of devices.

Comments about Petzl Reverso 3 Belay Device:
Before grabbing this device I would always carry around an ATC and a GRIGRI when doing multi-pitch, using the grigri to belay the second off the anchor. Now with the reverso, there's no need to carry around two belay devices which were not only heavy but took up valuable space on my harness. Also, I could never let go of the rope with the grigri but with the reverso, I can go completely hands free to dig in my bag or whatever I may have to do. Rappel's can be a little stiff since the teeth produce a lot of friction but that's easily taken care of by flipping the device around.
