Comments about GSI Dualist Cook System:
I use this for lightweight backpacking over a stove. When going solo, removing one bowl/cup combo leaves a lot of room for food storage. MSR Pocket Rocket, 220g/410ml fuel cannister and lighter fit inside as advertised. The clear plastic lid on the pot is excellent for cooking/straining pasta! Bowl/cup is insulated for hot food and the lid is cut for sipping hot liquids. It is an awkward shape for coffee in the morning but serves the purpose well while cutting out the weight of a separate mug. I removed the outer bowl (for cereal) and found that the inner bowl with attached insulating sleeve was Ok for coffee if not a bit on the hot side (without the outside bowl attached, my coffee cooled off much faster than in an insulated mug). The lid on the bowl made cleaning sticky foods easy (add a little hot water, shake, and dispose). I have not used the coated carrying bag for carrying water yet but tried it in the sink and it is indeed waterproof. While the pot does not have any measurement markings, both the inner and outer bowls are marked on the inside in milliliters, cups and ounces (100,200,300,400,500 ml; 1 & 2 cup; 4,8,12,16,20 oz). While the print for these measurements is raised, it is small and a bit difficult to read. However, the side of the bowl is semi-transparent so once you see the measurement, you can mark it with your finger as you hold the bowl and easily pour to the measure line. I did not find any other products that competed with this set for its weight and space efficiency. Regarding the "not durable" comment. For those that are rough on their gear, the pan dents easier than other (although heavier) backpacking pans I have used. Since the bowls fit snugly into the pan, a good dent will effect how the system packs into the pan.

Comments about GSI Dualist Cook System:
GSI brings smart design to the backcountry. A well thought out set, though as others mentioned it is odd at first using a bowl as your mug.
My only gripes are that it doesn't fit my MSR Pocket Rocket nor silverware set in the manner shown on the box and that they were a little hard to clean.

Comments about GSI Dualist Cook System:
Bought this little set because my wife loves to cook, and I needed a reason to replace the cheap-o set I had. A lot of thought went into the design of this set. I still cant believe it holds 2 bowls 2 cups w/lids, the pot and lid w/strainer oh and my stove and a canister of fuel fits in there. The build quality of the set just feels solid, everything fits together nicely. Really happy I bought this.

Saw that this product just came out and read all the early 2008 product of the year reviews. It seemed a perfect fit for my needs. Bought it, brought it home and was completely impressed. It can hold my gas stove, fuel canister, or alcohol stove, and personal items like liquid soap, etc. The pot size is perfect. Lid to the pot with strainer is a great idea! The bowls, mugs and lids all fit together in one very well thought out system. The stuff sack can even be used as a water-tight sink! They say its a system for two - sorry I'm using all to myself!

Comments about GSI Dualist Cook System:
Got this set to use with our Brunton Raptor stove for backpacking - the set not only disappears into itself but also stores a container of isobutane fuel, the Raptor stove, and two REI folding titanium sporks (foons) inside. Boils enough water at once for a meal and beverages for two people. Pot itself if unbelievably light. Bowls and cups aren't particularly tough - would have been nice if they were made of the same material as the lid (polycarbonate.)Stuff sack/dish basin is very handy and saves you from having to buy a separate one.

Comments about GSI Dualist Cook System:
My wife and I are Peace Corps volunteers in Albania. My mother-in-law got this for us because we like to do a lot of camping. This cook set was great because it had everything we needed for the two of us to eat, drink our coffee, and cook, and it packed down to a great size! It is one of those products that had a lot of thought put into every detail of it. From the rubber coated pot handle that folds down to hold all of the cookware together to the lids for the coffee cups/bowls, everything about it had a purpose. It's too bad ours got stolen!

I Before I ever used this I was very impressed by the features and quality. I used this for five days straight on a trip in Wyoming, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It never lacked in any way. We regularly used the sack to haul water for washing cooking use. The pan is easy to clean. The insulated mugs with lids kept tea and hot chocolate warm. The bowls have markings for liquid measurments which comes in very handy. The handle does not get hot like my old pan did. You can fit your stove and fuel inside to, which makes up for its size. I can't imagine this set getting any better.

Nice, but I don't care for using the bowl as a cup

Comments about GSI Dualist Cook System:
I brought this system instead of going for titanium cookwear. Though it is heavier, it is a bomber pot that has a great, space-efficient design. On several backpacking trips I have cooked a variety of meals, all of which the pot has been more that sufficient for. Due to my lack of cooking skills, I have scorched food several times, but have been able to clean it out with nothing but a handful of sand and water. Awesome product!

Gets it all done with room to spare to hold fuel canister. Quality, pretty light, and compact (for 2).
