    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

by fromTo be avoided My last shoes were 5.10 Coyotes; needed a new pair and chose these after much deliberation. I easily could have gotten another pair of Coyotes (I think they're great!), but I thought I'd try something new. These were more expensive, so naturally I thought they were a little more advanced. Big mistake. These felt okay in the store but were comically bad to climb in. No smearing ability, no stickiness, no edging, no sensitivity, no nothing. Wore them twice, thinking I'd give them another shot. Pfft. As an added bonus, they're really, really uncomfortable. These are to be avoided.

by fromI like mythos much better I climbed with these shoes in the gym maybe 3-4 times and it seemed really impossible to break them in. I've been climbing for ~8 years and I get how we all shoehorn our feet into climbing shoes, but these were really stiff and extra awkward for me. I took them back and got a pair of La Sportiva Mythos that I know and love. It's worth spending the extra $40 bucks.

by fromcut into ankle I'd been climbing at my college gym with free rental shoes for half a year when I decided it was time to get my own pair of climbing shoes. These shoes felt very comfortable at the store. Later at the climbing wall, I discovered that the shoe puts a lot of pressure on the soft spot right above my ankle bone whenever I twist my foot. That wouldn't happen if the shoe was a tiny bit higher around the ankle. I ended up returning this pair and now I am back to rentals. Maybe I just chose the wrong shoe for my feet?

by fromLove the shoes! This is my first pair of shoes, so I can't say too much compared to other models, but after taking them out for a few climbs, I have to say that I feel much more confident in my footwork, and I find myself trusting my feet more than when I had to rent shoes. The grip is excellent, and they have a very snug fit, so my feet don't move around in the shoes, but they are not hurting either. They're probably not the best if you like to use heel hooks, as the sole around the heel is very basic. They're great shoes if you're starting out like I am, and I think they'd make very good all-around shoes.

by fromGreat for beginners These were my first pair of shoes and fit like a sock after 2 or 3 days of climbing. I climbed consistently 3 times a week at an indoor gym and wore a hole in both shoes on the toe (smeared too much) after about 2 1/2 months. (I went with the Katana for my next pair b/c the rubber's a thicker around the toe) But I would definitely recommend them to a beginner as they are cheaper and comfortable. I'm a size 7.5/8 and went with a size 37 so go a size or so smaller (they will stretch a little).

by fromso far so good Like another reviewer I was angling for the Katana's and didn't feel really good about them. Tried on the Nago's and they fit really, really well. Super comfortable, snug fit all around, and good and tight in the toe for the right shape without being painful. Felt nice and solid indoors. I look forward to putting these on before climbing!

by fromGreat for this beginner These shoes are serving me well on both indoor and outdoor. They're relatively comfortable (for climbing shoes), and since it's a pain to tie/untie the laces sometimes I'll even keep them on between climbs. Definitely try on climbing shoes -- they all fit very differently. I wear a 7.5/8 and purchased a 38.5.

by fromsolid beginner shoe run big and stretch out, so try them in the store first and get a size that runs smaller. super comfortable! great all-around shoe especially if you are just starting out. not as good of a feel to the rock as i would like.
