Comments about REI Camp Dome 4 Tent:
This tent is waterproof! On my first use, we started with a 2" in an hour afternoon downpour followed by a steady rain all night. The tent was absolutely dry, not one damp spot. The next morning, the water beaded so well, that I could shake it off and pack up. That's all that matters to me. What's the point of a tent that's roomy and easy to set up if you get wet?Since we slept the long way, the two doors made it convenient to enter without stepping over each other. It's easy for one person to set up, although I suspect the fly might need a 2nd person if it's windy. The footprint worked well.Really minor shortcomings: The directions on the tent are actually for the Base Camp 4, so don't count on them for help. The tent needs 6 stakes, but comes with only 4. I always replace the flimsy aluminum stakes with steel ones anyway, but beware.

Comments about REI Camp Dome 4 Tent:
My wife and I use this tent for whenever we go car camping. Since she just recently got into camping the size is great for two and our Pug without being claustrophobic at all. There's enough room to sit up and lounge around inside during rain and even stand up and change clothes inside while stooping a bit.
It's easy to set up and pack away by myself and although the fly doesn't create anything like a vestibule for storing things, it keeps the occupants dry. Doors on both sides are great as well.
We've set up camp in Olympic National Park in the forst, along the ocean near Kalaloch, and a few other places and it's been great. Wind, Rain, Sun, and Fog it's kept us comfortably warm and dry through it all. The bath tub floor sealant works perfectly and kept the water out.
There are a lot of more expensive tents out there as there are cheaper ones. It's relatively small and compact when stored and luxuriously perfectly sized for two. I did a fair bit of searching and after comparing the demo's at the REI store, I chose this one. No complaints.

Comments about REI Camp Dome 4 Tent:
This is a 4-man tent but I use it for just me. Its more like a 2-man. I love the huge
doors(2). I put a camp chair inside besides my sleeping pad.(Be sure to put a rug down for the legs on your chair so you don't puncture holes in the floor.)If you leave off the fly, its almost like a screened tent with mesh on all 4 sides. Lots of room. Its 5'1 inches tall in the center so I can almost stand up straight inside. The directions printed on the tent bag are wrong and there are no green poles and no sleves like the directions say. I took it back to the store and had them show me how to put it up.Its easy even for one person. The fly pole fits into a small pocket on each end of the pole. I had a bit of trouble with that but I think I can do it faster next time. I really had to force one end to get it in that pocket.Oh...some call the pocket a "garage". I say what???? The previous post says it should be staked in 6 spots. I only found 4( all corners) but there were some other areas in front of the doors that could be staked if you so desired. That would pull out the floor a little giving you a little more floor space inside. This is a great tent even if just for one person. With a chair inside you can read or if its raining you can sit in your tent, have all your gear inside and still have plenty of room to sleep.

Comments about REI Camp Dome 4 Tent:
This is a great tent and I love the 2 doors.
However, it only comes with 4 tent stakes and only 2 cords. What's up with that? Does REI expect you to only pitch it in surroundings that resemble their beautiful catalog pictures. Don't leave home without taking 4-6 more stakes and the 2-4 more tent cords. Plus, it wouldn't hurt REI to increase the size of the fly. It is just about 1-2 inches short all the way around.

Comments about REI Camp Dome 4 Tent:
This is a great tent. However, there are two things about it that you need to know. One, it will not fit 4 adults. It is very comfortable for two kids or two adults, but 4 would find it tight.
Also it comes with four stakes, but you need six to keep the fly off the tent.

Comments about REI Camp Dome 4 Tent:
this is your tent if your not sure what to get and want something to work everytime you camp...its easy to use, waterproof, and veryspacious for 2-3 people. the only problem is that if you bend the poles to far they'll permenantly bend. but is very durable and a great all around tent
