This chair folds up to about the size of a laptop computer. It is comfortable, lightweight and easy to carry. It can be a little difficult to pull the legs out when setting up. I have 2 of these chairs and one works better than the other. It's overpriced when compared to the basic camp chair that fits in a long bag.

What they fail to tell the unsuspecting buyer is that you should never use this chair on the beach ( on sand) or any slightly uneven surface.Mine broke and I probably won't replace it but would buy the other regular camping chairs.

Ordered this for personal use in Afghanistan. Was easy to setup and compact. Comfortable as well. After a week of daily use, one of the corner pieces holding up the chair broke while I was sitting in it causing me to collapse to the ground. The porous cast aluminum mounting point had shattered to pieces. It was very brittle and very likely defective.I weigh 181lbs. Not a big guy. Useless now. This seems more of a casual piece of eye candy than a serious piece of field gear. Go with the sturdier cheaper GCI chair.

I have had this chair for 3 years. I originally purchased it because it would fit in my suitcase for travel. We go to dog shows and we have 4 kids in sports. It works great for both purposes. As other reviews indicate, you do have to FULLY extend the legs in order to set the chair up. Once you know this, you get used to how the chair works and you don't feel like you are fighting with the chair. I can see how it probably isn't the best chair for use in sand because of the "telescoping" feature. If you are intending to use it for solid, flat surfaces, this could be be your highly portable - FAVORITE - chair. We only have 1 and everyone in the family fights over it! Oh, I must add that this chair provides MUCH more back support and you sit higher so it is easier to get out of than the popular chairs that go in the sacks. (I know this from pregnancy experience!) I am purchasing a 2nd chair for my husband for his birthday.

I thought the design of this chair was fantastic. For someone who must use crutches, being able to carry this chair like a briefcase was very appealing.However, the chair broke at the seat level in the back corner. The materials used for this shouldn't be a composite, but stainless steel. It would mean a heavier chair, but one that would be sturdier at the corners and safer. I sat on the chair, then the corner gave way. Thank goodness I was able to stand before falling to the ground. They just need to improve the construction materials than the chair may be worth the hefty price tag.

Was going to a two-week field op and knew there would be lots of down-time. I wanted a compact folding chair to test out with intent of taking to Afghanistan with me.
During the op, there WAS a lot of down-time and this chair was my savior. It's comfortable, lightweight and very easy to assemble. When folding it back down, though, the telescoping legs tended to stick. I had to extend the legs once or twice to break it back down - perhaps due to the excessive sand. Otherwise, I had absolutely no problems. I was concerned that it would fail during the op especially after reading other reviews, but it held up.
Hopefully, this chair is as good to me while deployed as it was during the field op.

During our first camping trip this season, I watched a friend arrive with this chair. Impressed with its compact design and features, I started to wonder if I need one. Two nights of car camping. Nothing more strenuous than sitting around the fire. By the second night, the chair was broken. Nothing worse than gear which can't survive its first field test.

I love this chair. It's been to more festivals than I can count. I would never take it to the beach or leave it outside in the rain. I take care of it and it's very durable. I think the problem is that folks that are big will break it, and also those that have no patience will break it. There's a system to closing and opening it. Once you have that down, you're good to go. That's the consensus among my friends that have owned this chair in the past.
