The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Leki Sierra Antishock SLS Staff:
I've had one of these poles for years and love it. The terrain I hike involves sliding on my butt to go down and crawling on my hands and knees to go up so, after getting the locking mechanism tight, I haven't adjusted it since. That being said, the initial adjustment took a while as the lock will slip if it isn't tight enough. The knob grip works for me as I hold it in the palm of my hand with no strap(I fall a lot and the pole, attached to my wrist by the strap, ould always hit me in the head),and the foam grip has no tears or missing chunks. This pole has fallen down 800 foot shale banks and has been lost temporarily in swollen rivers and it's still in good shape, albeit scratched. Since I'm getting old, I was actually considering getting another pole and it's good to know that Leki still makes this one and REI still carries it.

Comments about Leki Sierra Antishock SLS Staff:
I purchased this Leki trekking stick to aid in walking stability post operative from Achilles tendon surgery. After eight weeks of being on crutches and 100% non weight bearing on my repaired foot I was given a walking boot and told to use a cane to aid in walking. I have a profession that requires me to travel to remote rural areas of Wisconsin. Most of the time the off road snow and ice is an obstacle to maneuver through. After carefully searching for a walking stick I purchased this model and am 100% satisfied with it. There is a cushion effect that aids on wrist fatigue when walking. The locking system is fool proof once the desired length is determined. The removable rubber pad covers an aggressive spike to aid in icy conditions. This strong Leki pole is made in the Czech Republic. It is well worth the money and peace of mind.

Comments about Leki Sierra Antishock SLS Staff:
Good walking stick. I also use a Komperdell AS Walking Stick but wanted one that can double as a monopod. I mount a ballhead on it when I use it as a monopod. It is not as good as a dedicated monopod but it works.
As a walking stick, the wooden knob handle is not as comfortable as a regular walking stick handle. The strap on the handle is a very good accessory, it allows me to hold on to the walking stick instead of having it to find a place to rest the stick. Overall a good walking stick if one needs the extra feature.
Service and delivery comments:
Item was not properly packed for delivery. There was no packing material used to pack the walking stick. It arrived rattling in the box. Luckily it was not damaged in transit but both joints were loose.
The poor packing is a point I have to consider whether or not to buy from Rei again.
It took more than a week to arrive.

Comments about Leki Sierra Antishock SLS Staff:
I've carried this trekking pole for roughly 200 miles, mostly mountain terrain. It's held up fairly well.
Comfortable to carry (some people prefer a round knob on top and some prefer other shapes), very light and with a modest locking system. It's about as easy to adjust as any other system I've used, though the locking isn't as strong as the snap-type you'll find in the more modern poles.
The camera mount is useful and easy to access.
The anti-shock is minimal at best. Sometimes I don't even notice that it's active it's so subtle.
In the short time that I've had this pole, it has taken on the slightest of bends somewhere in the lower shaft. I can't say where I encountered it and don't recall any abuse heavy enough to warp it, but it's definitely present. The functionality of the pole doesn't seem to be marginalized at all by the minor bend.
