    I'm an avid Hammock-er and use this tarp as my rain fly. All it took was this tarp, some 3mil cord and 4-6 stakes to stay dry all night. Compared to a traditional tarp it's lightweight and pack up small.

    However, there are certainly other materials that would pack smaller if you're getting into serious backpacking.
