The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Gregory Deva 85 Pack - Women's:
Bought this for an extended trip in the Brooks Range of Alaska and wasn't disappointed. I found it easy to load, with good padding on both the back, shoulder straps, and hip belt. The canted water bottle holder is a great feature, making it easy to get to the bottle while wearing the pack, but with a shock cord to hold it in place while hiking. FYI, an 80 liter REI Ducksback pack cover fits this perfectly even when fully loaded.

Comments about Gregory Deva 85 Pack - Women's:
This pack sucks. The hip belt broke in the middle of my 2nd season of use. Three other people on my crew with this pack had broken hip belts and/or zippers by mid-season (this was their first season of use). The most astounding thing was that Gregory Customer service was hard to get a hold of, has an arcane refund/repair/exchange protocol and was totally apathetic. I ended up going through REI and exchanging for a new pack, thank God for REI. The trouble is, after my experience and reading the reviews, I don't even trust the new exchange. A [$] [*] show.
Comments about Gregory Deva 85 Pack - Women's:
Such a disappointing bag. I bought this for a trip to Mt. Rainier and expected to use it for years to come. After 25 miles max, the hip belt completely broke off.
I was not thrilled with the bag for the short-time that I used it as well. It was awkward to pack and dug into my hips.

Comments about Gregory Deva 85 Pack - Women's:
LOVED this pack initially. Like many, the hipbelt cracked within 3 months of ownership, but Gregory took it back without any issues and replaced it, no questions asked, saying that they had a defective batch of waistbelts and that I must have ended up with one. No big deal. Proceeded to use it very heavily for an intense season of guiding clients through the backcountry without fuss. Now, after owning it for a year and a half, the plastic along the back has snapped though one of the rivets, threatening to detach the waistbelt. I'm upset that such a well renowned company would ignore this design flaw and will be returning my pack, hopefully for one with out the defective plastic.

Comments about Gregory Deva 85 Pack - Women's:
I needed a big pack for doing a ten day trip in the Sierras with no resupply stop. After reading some of the reviews in here, I wasn't even considering buying it. But, given the limited selection of women's expedition packs, I had to try it on. The other packs didn't even come close to it in comfort. At this point, I contacted Gregory to ask about the reports of the waist belt falling apart. They said that they had had one bad batch and had corrected the situation.
Since I've had an excellent experience with a Gregory pack in the past, I took them at their word, and bought the Deva 85.
While nothing can make 50 pounds feel good, this pack made it as good as it could get. The waist belt fits like a charm, the shoulder straps are well padded also, and the pockets are in all the right places. It's a very sturdy pack, which makes it heavy, but you can't have everything! I would definitely recommend this pack to a friend.

I've recently upgraded my Dueter ACT 90+10 for something more comfortable and user friendly. Everything about this pack is amazing, it's unbelievably comfortable, easy to pack, great access zippers and pockets and despite being a beautiful Deva, totally burly.
*Note: A few buyers complained about hip belts breaking. There was one model with a faulty plastic and all of those models were recalled and the plastic was changed and that is no longer a problem

Comments about Gregory Deva 85 Pack - Women's:
I just finished a 32-day backpacking trip in the backcountry of NZ and loved this pack for 31 days of it. On the last day the hip belt snapped right at the rivets (as many other people have described) but luckily this happened on the last day of tramping so I managed just fine. I had to return it and by the sounds of the other reviews I will not be purchasing a new one. What a shame. This pack was very comfortable and had all the compartments and features I could ask for.

Comments about Gregory Deva 85 Pack - Women's:
I bought this pack for the sole purpose of taking it with me into the peace corps. Now that I'm here and at site all I can say is that I'm glad I decided on this pack. I've lugged it from airport to out houses to site and it's been great. It fit most of my stuff for the next two years and I was able to carry it myself for long periods of time...even though I know it weighs over 50 pounds. It's sturdy and has great support. Couldn't have asked for a better pack.
If you're looking for a pack to take on long trips this is the pack for you.
Thanks from Peace Corps Ukraine

Comments about Gregory Deva 85 Pack - Women's:
The hip belt broke after only 40 or 50 miles of hiking. Took it back to REI and they gave me a brand new Deva 85. It also broke after the same trail time and at the exact same place on the belt. The plastic belt starts cracking at a rivet hole. Then the crack works it's way to the top and bottom edges of the belt cutting the belt completely in half. Disaster on the trail! Judging by all the similar reviews, this pack obviously has a major design flaw with the hip belt. Gregory must know about this but they keep selling it. Shame on them. I would expect higher quality from Gregory. If you own this pack, check the hip belt. It's probably already cracking at the rivets. Having the hip belt completely break through with 10 miles to go and a heavy pack is no fun!
This is really a shame because, other than the completely disastrous hip belt design, this was a really great pack. For the first few hikes it was working great! All the pockets, compartments, comfort, and convenience made living on the trail for weeks at a time a real joy.

Comments about Gregory Deva 85 Pack - Women's:
I bought this pack with the intention of mountaineering and have used it for many multiple day backpack trips. At first I loved it because it handles a very heavy load well. The problem is it bruised my hips. The hip belt feels like a vice grip and is extremely uncomfortable. I also liked all the pockets at first but the side pockets become useless if the main compartment is packed tight. It is bulky and cumbersome.
