Actually got this set for my office...as an alternative to the plasticware that comes with most corporate lunches where I work. Anyway, fork and spoon are fantastic, but literally could not cut through a grilled red pepper with the knife, much less a piece of broccoli. Considering whether to take it to a knife grinder or to simply replace it.

The first utensil set I bought was for my oldest son to use in Boy Scouts. I tested them out and was very satisfied with the quality and durablity. I ended up purchasing 2 more sets for my youngest son and I to use for Cub Scout overnighters. They are better than the plastic utensils that we had used for the outings that would always bend and break with the slightest amount of pressure and heat of our food. They are worth the price and especially if they get misplaced they are pretty inexpensive to replace.

I bought these after snapping 3 plastic sporks in less than a year. These are AWESOME! I throw them in my lunch box and use them every day for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I've even stopped using plastic utensils when I get take out. They are super easy to clean.

The store associate suggested I get something to replace the flimsy plastic ring that keeps them together. He couldn't have been more right. The S clips they have at the front counter work PERFECT!

A few of my co-workers have followed my lead and bought sets for themselves.

I HIGHLY suggest these to anyone who brings their own lunch to work. They will not bend or break.

I don't hike or camp so I can't say whether or not to use them for those activities, although I've heard they are a little too heavy. I, however, don't mind the weight to them.

This set of utensils works perfect for work in my lunch box. Why don't I just use regular utensils? Because I do not want to lose my nice dinner utensils if they accidentally get tossed in the trash! I use these because of the low profile and they are more durable than the plastic pieces. They are not fancy, just utilitarian.

Comments about REI Campware Utensil Set:

Why do these have holes in them? Were they just trying to keep it under 500 lbs? Seriously, they weigh a ton. And besides, these are basically just regular utensils on a ring, there's no point in buying them. I mean, they're perfectly adequate utensils and I'm sure they'll last for eons since they're so solid, but I'd never carry them with me. I just end up carrying the lightest and/or most beat up spoon and fork from my kitchen drawer instead.
