Comments about REI Campware Nonstick Cookset - Medium:
We've used this set 2 times now during our car camping outings and they have worked as expected. Areas that have exceeded expectations are its durability and easy clean up. It doesn't appear that the surface will scratch very easily on these pans.

Comments about REI Campware Nonstick Cookset - Medium:
We purchased this set to replace a couple of bulky pots that we previously used in our camp kitchen. The compact design makes for better use of space in the tote we use to transport our camp kitchen. Now things are so much easier to pack. So far so good.
To be honest, we have only just made the purchase, so I can't speak for the durability of the items. They appear well made. Only time will tell how they hold up.
I was a little offended by the amount of packaging used in the box. Each piece was placed in its own plastic bag. The handle was wrapped in plastic foam which was then put in another plastic bag. I would expect a company like REI to use more environmentally responsible packaging.

Comments about REI Campware Nonstick Cookset - Medium:
Very durable set of cookware. Was able to cook easily for a group of 5 guys after long days of hiking. Even able to backpack with the smaller pot and pan into the grand canyon when we were looking to save weight.
Recommend putting utensils into the pots as well to help save space in your pack.
Two unfortunate things: I've already lost the pot handle and the outside of the pots will take some decent scrubbing to clean all of the ash and soot off....

Comments about REI Campware Nonstick Cookset - Medium:
I bought this set for car camping and it works well for that. I find it durable and dependable. Good size to cook for 2 or 3. More than that, I would buy the large size. Overall, this kits does what's promised. Do be EXTRA careful to use only bamboo, nylon, silicone, etc. utensils on this. The teflon coating is great, but any metal will scratch it up and render it useless. If you take care of it, I think you will be happy with this set.

I Checked "Compact" under pro only because if you're car camping it is compact for that kind of gear.
I have owned this set since 2009. With minimum care my pans still work and look like new. The non-stick surface is still in tack and working perfect. I pack the pans together with soft clothe (Mini Towel) between each pan, lids too.

Comments about REI Campware Nonstick Cookset - Medium:
I got this as a gift and it is my go-to set for car camping. Before receiving these cooksets, I did a lot of research and bought MSR pots for backpacking purposes because they were smaller and lighter. When I got the REI ones, I decided to keep them as well because they were so much bigger and came with decent-sized pans, which I did not have.
The cookset is a perfect size for two people: big enough for ambitious meals, and easy to clean. For car camping uses (where weight is not an issue), a normal lid with its own handle would be more convenient, but that's a minor issue. I also love the mesh bag to carry the cookset and the quick-dry towels.

This is a great cookset for gourmet cooking on the trail. I got bored with the "add water to the bag" meals and I am not a minimalist so I thought I would pick up a cookset. This cookset is lightweight, durable, and easy to use. I especially like the double pot system and I use a double boil bake method to bake cinnamon rolls and corn bread on the trail which is always hit with people who haven't seen this method before. I have attached pictures to show how this is done. Cheers.

Comments about REI Campware Nonstick Cookset - Medium:
I picked these up on sale last week when I was stocking up on some gear for a trip up to the UP of Michigan. Wasn't planning on buying cookware, but I don't have any and figured it was too good of a deal to pass up. I definitely don't regret it. The lids/fry pans stack nicely into the pots so they don't take up too much room. I was shocked by how easy they were to clean - seriously, I almost want to go buy all new pans for my house because these were so easy. My only complaint is that the camp cloths or whatever those orange things were that were included almost seemed pointless. They were too thin to use as potholders, and too thick to use as a rag to clean them out with. Ultimately, those were a throw-away item for us, but otherwise a great product at a great price. Perfect for a camping trip with 2-3 people.

Comments about REI Campware Nonstick Cookset - Medium:
This cooking set is great. It packs well and is lightweight. The included sack makes packing and traveling very simple. Once you use them, you can feel their sturdiness and the handle gets a great grip when used. The pots and fryers are the perfect size for 1-4 people and the non-stick surface is of good quality. Also once they are packed, there is still room in the middle for 4 bowls, which helps if you are trying to keep the clutter down. Anyway, I really like this set and highly recommend it.
