REI Analog Travel Alarm Clock is rated 1.3333 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cool looking design, but not functional No light so you can't see what time it is in the middle of the night without turning on the bedside light. The switch that turns the alarm on and off is hard to locate and so small you can only operate it with a fingernail. The battery is an unusual size that is inconvenient to find. A classic example of "design-ey": something that looks like it's functional, but is useless.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from no go First one I got was DOA. Would not function at all. Second one has problem with alarm function. If you set the alarm for 8am, it goes off around 7:15am. Also design of alarm switch is such that I would wager it wearing out after repeated use (based on similar exp with Eagle Creek clock which has similar switch). The clock feels sorta solid, is sufficiently light, but 0 for 2 means I'm returning it and giving up on this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No light. Time zone ring cumbersome. Purchased this for my wife, as an x-mas gift. Should have read the box first (duh...) as we discovered that there is no light. Worse yet, there seems to be no luminescence on the clock face. So, once the lights are off, the only way to see what time it is, would be to turn on a light! It may seem like a minor thing but when you are traveling and stay in several different hotels, finding a light can be challenging when you are half asleep. Same goes for camping; that flashlight just has to move a few inches and then you are fumbling around in the dark just to find out what time it is! The other thing I did not like was the way the time zone ring worked. You rotate it around to match your current time zone's current time and then you can see, on that dial, what time it is in another city. Well, unless you are half-way across the world, I think one would only use this a couple of times before the novelty wore off. As it is not tied to the movement, you have to adjust the dial each time. The plastic disc moves in an awkward manner and the markings are small. By the time I get it lined up, I can calculate the time of every US timezone, in my head! The idea is nice but proper execution with an analog movement is probably not possible at this price point.
