It's a great deal for everything you get! If you're a beginner you shouldn't consider getting anything other than this. It has everything you need and all if it is great quality. Very comfortable harness. I could wear it all day long. If you go to a store location, they'll let you switch out chalk bags so you get the color you like. I do mostly a lot of indoor climbing and bouldering with it, but it works great outdoors too.

This is a great all around package. The harness is very comfortable, even after a couple hours. I haven't taken any long falls in it yet, but on little falls it doesn't shift or chafe. Like a lot of other people said about the harness sizing, it does run a little small. I tried on both sizes in the store and wound up going one size larger than I normally wear, just to give me a little extra room. In the store they let me change out the chalk bag, carabiner, and rappel device to get colors I wanted. Definitely a great buy.

I am a fairly new climber and this is my first harness. I used it in an outdoor climbing class and was so impressed with how much more comfortable it was than the ones I'd borrowed in the gyms that I decided to get my own! I often forget that I'm even wearing the harness. I'm a pretty small person and even with the XS it's a bit tough to get it tight enough, but other than that I LOVE it! (plus, I love that it's purple!). I thought the price was very reasonable and was happy to be able to get everything I needed at once. Overall, I am very satisfied.

I've been climbing for a couple of months and am very happy with this harness -- both indoors and outdoors. My first few times out I used a one-size fits all harness with little padding. This is a vast improvement. Plus, as a beginner, you get a bit of a price break purchasing the package vs. getting everything separately.
Before buying, I recommend trying on a few harnesses to see what feels/fits best. My store has a rope you can use to weight the harness, and it was very helpful.

I am a rock wall instructor for YMCA Camping services, and I love this package! I first bought it to replace the camp issued harness I had been using, and it was the best idea I ever had.The harness is comfortable, even after belaying outdoors for over 5hours. And when I'm not using chalk, the chalk bag is great for my extra water bottle or sunscreen. It's a great value for the equipment you receive.

This is a fine beginners kit. However, my main problems involved the chalk bag and the usability of the harness itself. The chalk bag is awful. The sinching mechanism does not do it's job, so prepare to have chalk all over your car/house. The harness is very hard to put on: it involved completely undoing the double back every time you want to get in and out of it. This may not be a big deal if you don't mind switching from rope climbing to bouldering with your harness on, but if you want to switch in and out easily, this isn't the harness for you. Overall, this is an alright place to start if you're unsure about how much climbing you're going to do. If you want to commit though, get a different harness and chalk bag. I will not buy anymore black diamond harnesses or chalk bags.

I got this set up about 5 years ago and am just now getting around to using the gear. All the components are high quality and I have no complaints. It's a great set up for a beginner because you don't have to shell out a ton of money and you have everything you need to start except for shoes :).
