Hard to go wrong with this simple and useful stool. I've used it on multiple day hike and car camp trips, plus a backpacking trip. It's quick and easy and comfortable to sit in while making breakfast at camp, birdwatching, sketching on-site, or admiring a great view. While not as light as the newer flexlite air stool, I've easily strapped it to the outside of my backpacks using the bottom loop and thin bungee meant for trekking poles. The carry strap makes it easy to take anywhere. The only thing I think could be improved is the strap at the bottom that holds the feet together during transport, which can sometimes be a little fiddly - just a minor inconvenience.
I have two of these for my wife and I. She is 5’9” 140 and I’m 5’11” 250. These things can take the weight. This is small enough to sling over a shoulder (the included strap is a little thin) for a concert in the park for a place to sit while stalk-hunting (no different than a hike through the woods). Like any stool, more than a couple hours in it aren’t comfortable, but for a break along the trail it is perfect. The main benefits are zero-time to deploy and pack and the light weight. For longer sits, look at the bucket style chairs that break down into a bag. They can be the same weight, but are comfortable enough to sleep in. You lose the fast deployment, but your back will thank you.
I've been waiting for something like this because I'm tired of trying to find a log to sit on with my little cushion. This is perfect. I love love love it. It only weighs 1 lb 2 oz 🥳
I absolutely love this trail stool !! It is definitely going to come in handy to sit on. It is light weight and fits in my REI Duter backpack.
Exactly what I was looking for. This seat is extremely light and small. It fits in my drawstring bag easily with plenty of room to spare. And it's still fairly comfy when sitting on it. I have difficulty standing for long periods of time, so I love taking this to protests or sporting events where I'd like to sit but don't want to sit in the dirt/grass. The strap to tie it closed is super unintuitive and I haven't been able to figure out how to use it, but even so, I'd definitely recommend this seat.
My husband and I bought two of these stools for use when birding. We love them. Two can fit in my backpack with my camera’s tripod, or in my bike’s pannier. Unlike the chairs we tried out, this stool has wide feet. We felt more stable sitting on these stools than in the chairs we saw at REI. Plus, you can’t beat the price, nor weight.
This stool Is very light, requires no assembly/disassembly, takes only seconds to set up and fold up, and is easy to carry. It is the best stool I have found to carry along at disc golf tournaments, where you walk five minutes and then stand still for five minutes to watch the players make their throws. Standing really gets to my back; this stool is so easy to put down, use, pick up, and carry to the next stop, over and over.
I have two of these stools and have had the older one for about eight years (newer one probably 3-4 years). They've worked great and have held up well (I'm about 160-165 lbs). I use it as an additional chair in my camper van as well as around camp. I also use it a lot for my fieldwork, as it's easy to throw on a small day pack, and then be able to sit and write in my field notebook.
I bought this to take on hikes for my wife because she has asthma and sometimes needs to take a second to catch her breath. This folds up easily and fits in the side pocket of my backpack so whenever we need it, it is easily accessible and then folds right back and packs away easy when we're ready to go. It has come in handy numerous times and wish we had bought one sooner. Allows her to get off her feet without just sitting on the ground before getting back to the hike.
very low and kind of difficult to sit down. Not very stable.
