Comments about REI Camp Stowaway Chair:
This is a great chair. It is in a naturally comfortable position, in fact so comfortable, that I wanted to put my head back and fall asleep, but there isn't a back for the head. Easy to set up, easy to cary, shoulder strap on carrying case is perfect. Great all around chair, actually worth the money, particularly if comfort is of intrest.

Comments about REI Camp Stowaway Chair:
Slightly pricey but a very well designed product.
Sturdy, comfortable, lightweight and compact are often a tough combo to achieve and this does.
A lot of other mesh fold out chairs are awkward and have weird sitting positions, specifically how they support your hamstrings or actually get in the way.
Arms and a slightly higher back would be nice but this is a camp chair, not a wing back.

Comments about REI Camp Stowaway Chair:
I needed a super-comfortable and LOW chair for use at a music festival that limited the heights of chairs. This was by far the most comfortable chair I came across. Not only is it comfortable in its usual position (four feet on the ground), but I've found that I can comfortably tip the chair back on its two rear feet (each of the feet actually swivels) and balance in that position, without any effort -- so it's like a recliner. Also, the padded arm rests are so sturdily constructed that you can use them to push against (I weigh 190 lb) to raise yourself up and get out of the chair. The only drawback is the chair's price, but I've learned it's going on sale in two weeks (May 1), and I plan to purchase a couple more for my kids, who now use my chair in their rooms because they find it so comfortable.

Comments about REI Camp Stowaway Chair:
I really like this chair. I bought two on sale at REI, what a bargain! You would never guess how comfortable these chairs are unless you sit in one. I threw it out on my deck, and already can't stop sitting in it. These will be perfect for sitting around the fire, on the river, or after a good hike to relax in. The really cool this for me is I just bought the North Face Big Fat Frog tent, and the chair fits perfect right under the vestibule!

Comments about REI Camp Stowaway Chair:
I carried this chair into the BWCA with some canoeing and minimal portages. It was such a comfy chair and a bit of a luxury to get my rear off the ground and/or log for once.
It is a bit of a luxury, especially since it is pretty heavy for such a compact chair. But with a little inspection, I would say the heaviness comes from its rock solid construction. This also explains the price tag, which while not out of hand (low enough for me to buy it), was double the price of a similar chair that my friend bought (although the REI chair was a bit more stylish).
So as long as you're not hiking over long distances with this, it's definitely worth it. My friends liked it and may purchase a couple themselves.

I used this chair as a fishing chair in the mountains. Perfect choice.

Comments about REI Camp Stowaway Chair:
Great chair for car camping, concerts or at the beach. A bit heavy, but that's what makes it durable. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Most comfortable low camp chair I've ever used. Highly recommended.

Comments about REI Camp Stowaway Chair:
I think this chair is fantastic. I purchased it for use at car camping sites. I find it very comfortable and as far as I'm concerned it doesn't need arms. There are many other makes and models available with arms. You can't play a guitar in chairs with arms. On our recent trip back east I took this chair with me so I could comfortably play my guitar while camping and sitting outside virtually anywhere, worked like a charm.
I have noticed a few complaints in the durability area but have not owned it long enough to comment. I'm short so it's hard to find a good camp chair that is comfortable so I usually go with those that are low to the ground and when car camping bring another chair with arms for beverages and such.
The only complaint is that it is a bit heavy. I wouldn't recommend it for backpacking use.

Comments about REI Camp Stowaway Chair:
I used this chair at the beach and the foam rubber arm covers ripped on my first use! It was difficult to open but it did feel sturdy and comfortable to sit in. It dried quickly and seemed to be of decent material. Overall, I do not recommend this product and I returned it due to poor quality construction.

Comments about REI Camp Stowaway Chair:
Overall the chair is a good design. The only problem with it are the cheap rivets REI used to put it together. My chair is about to fall apart where the backrest connects to the frame.
