Comments about Pearl Izumi X-Alp Low Bike Shoes - Women's:
I started biking this summer after not being on a bike for 17 years and am totally new to commuter biking. After a month or so of riding with my sneakers and getting used to being back on a bike, I decided it was time to get biking shoes and clips so that I have better control and power when climbing the many hills in my neighborhood.
I used these with my hybrid/touring bike with SPD clips (on dual pedals). These shoes are very comfortable with sturdy soles and good traction. There is no need to change out of them if I want walk around a bit and I don't walk 'funny' like others who wear racing shoes.
I rode in the rain for the first time last weekend and my feet stayed warm and dry while the rest of me was soaked to the skin!
The longest ride I have been on so far was only 35 miles, so I cannot assess how these work with long-distance rides yet. But with my first century as my goal this fall, I may be able to update this review then.

Great shoes but too small (and I always wear a 41).
So back they go, ordering the next size up, and hoping its not too big.
