Comments about Pearl Izumi Slice UltraSensor Bike Shorts - Men's:
I have had a lot of different shorts trying to find the perfect pair. I like a lot of them, love these. [$] is a little scary but well worth the cash. Buy these and use an old t-shirt, money is better spent on these shorts than on a cool shirt.

Comments about Pearl Izumi Slice UltraSensor Bike Shorts - Men's:
Use mostly for mtn biking and occasional road riding. I have tried a number of different brands including other models of Pearl Izumi, and this is the best so far.

Comments about Pearl Izumi Slice UltraSensor Bike Shorts - Men's:
I have three of these so I always have a clean pair during the riding season. The padding is the best I've used. Some complain of chaffing, but I use Chamois Butt'r everytime I ride and have never had chaffing. the material is a little thicker than some, but is still breathable and aids in its durability. The downside is the price, but my sit-bones thank me.

Comments about Pearl Izumi Slice UltraSensor Bike Shorts - Men's:
The fabric is rough on the inside and does not feel good; it sticks to the skin and tends to bunch up. It's also heavy and hot. Chamois has good padding but the fabric covering is not smooth - it rubs me raw. Other people like them so I wouldn't refrain from recommending them, but they don't work for me.

Comments about Pearl Izumi Slice UltraSensor Bike Shorts - Men's:
A great short that has comfortable padding - but not too much of it, which is important for long rides. If you're going to ride for more than two hours, I'd recommend using a chamois cream with these shorts, as the chamois will start to chafe/rub on extended rides. I've done 3-4 hour rides with no discomfort in these shorts and chamois cream (chamois buttr is a good brand).

Comments about Pearl Izumi Slice UltraSensor Bike Shorts - Men's:
The padding in this short is very abrasive and caused chaffing the first time I wore them. I was very disappointed with this product. I will be returning them today. Pearl Izumi makes a large variety of shorts and this is their middle of the line product but at REI it is the best they carry. REI needs to step it up and carry the top of the line products if they expect to compete with other bike shops.

Comments about Pearl Izumi Slice UltraSensor Bike Shorts - Men's:
I got these to wear instead of my baggies for a few mountain bike races that I did this year and I love them. I had some cheap spandex cycling shorts in college and these are so much better. Not too diapery feeling and the breathability is amazing.
