Comments about Teva Open Toachi Water Sandals - Men's:
These sandals are comfortable, easy to get on and off, and breath well, BUT all that doesn't matter if they're going to fall apart after a few wearings. The plastic heal support covering where the strap meets the sole started separating after only a few, slightly strenuous outings. Don't bother. I'm returing them for the K**ns.

They weren't durable at all - the heel strap came loose from the sole just wearing them around campus.

Comments about Teva Open Toachi Water Sandals - Men's:
Great looking product that looked promising. Toe strap too tight for normal to wide feet - what's the point of even having velcro here Teva? To make it even tighter? Also, straps are somewhat narrow compared to other Tevas I have owned, thus uncomfortable. The sole is excellent however and very comfortable. Folks with narrow feet should not have any issues. I'm returning these and looking to another model with an adjustable toe strap.

Didn't last me a year, and most of that was winter. bottoms came apart, end of story. last pair of Teva's lasted 4-5 yrs and it was the velcro that wore out.

Comments about Teva Open Toachi Water Sandals - Men's:
Similar to other reviews, the sandals look great & are comfortable but the positive comments end there. Purchased mine in late March 2008 and by August 2008, the soles from BOTH are separating from the sandals - under regular street & light hiking trail use. Very, very disappointed in Teva. My previous pair of Teva's were bought in 2001 and I STILL have them even though I use a hiking boot shoe lace to hold the heel strap together and the soles on both are worn right through the first layer of rubber exposing the "innards"; however, this is understandable for a pair 7 years old. I'm going back to wearing my old ones while I abandon future purchases from Teva and now will try Keen. Gosh I hope Keen makes a better sandal.

Comments about Teva Open Toachi Water Sandals - Men's:
I previously owned a pair of Merrells that finally broke after 4 years of heavy use. I wear them while walking and biking as I abhor the stench of my feet after being couped up in shoes and socks. These were my first pair of Tevas, and I thought the buckle closure was nice as velcro closures tend to wear out. I found the toe strap too tight, and it did not stretch to fit my feet after some wear and after a month the left foot developed an annoying squeak! I had to keep my sandals for a trip, so I endured this annoying soundtrack and the day I went to return them the heel strap broke loose from the sole. I wanted to try the new Merrells, but none were in stock and they were out of Chacos my size, so I opted for the classic Teva at my wifes urging. Let's hope they can stand up better than the Toachi...

Ok, it's true that the stitching isn't perfect. On one of mine it has come loose.... But it did not effect the structural stability of the shoe at all.I got these at a return sale, and can't really complain for like [$]. I did get a blister from the back strap when I first got them, but after it healed I had no problem after getting them adjusted perfectly. It's important that they aren't too tight, and obviously not too loose either.People are so critical of shoes, and it's kind of unfair. For something you stomp on constantly and put through more abuse than any other piece of gear these are a fair value. I have probably put 150 miles walked on these shoes, wore them everyday this summer, and they are still in fair condition.

The arch support is stiff, wear these for more than an hour and your feet will kill you. Would have been great for the kayak. Really wanted to like this Teva.

Comments about Teva Open Toachi Water Sandals - Men's:
I wore these for less than 14 days total. One strap failed completely and the other was very close to failure. I wore these on a river trip without lots of hiking or daily walking distance.
I returned the sandals to Teva and it took two months for them to issue me a credit at their online store. Looking at the user ratings of anything comparable they make, I decided I'd be better off with nothing to replace this shoddy junk. Teva has lost its way, big time.

Comments about Teva Open Toachi Water Sandals - Men's:
I needed some all-terrain footwear that I could get wet and sandy and wear camping, boating, around town, or in the yard. The soft sole makes these comfortable enough to wear all day. The use of clips instead of velcro makes them stay on during water sports. And the "spider rubber" soles really do grip extremely well when wet. The only downside was that the first pair I picked up (not from REI) wasn't glued properly and I had to return them. I was very happy to find another, properly manufactured pair at REI.
