Comments about Shimano A530 SPD Sport Road Pedals:
I have a hybrid bike. These pedals suit perfectly my needs. Daily comute to work with a solid base, intuitive to position your foot without looking too much. When going to the hills using the cleats they are also reliable and shape helps to quickly find the correct side! Cleats don't come off even on a quite-loose set up.
Also like the design & weight.
For a hybrid these are ok. Don't think them for a mountain bike or a full road one.

Comments about Shimano A530 SPD Sport Road Pedals:
I have these pedals on my touring bike, which I also use for commuting. The combination design is handy when you're getting in and out of the clips frequently when commuting, and for riding with camp footwear when touring. The large platform lets you ride with almost any type of footwear.

Comments about Shimano A530 SPD Sport Road Pedals:
These are my first clipless pedals ever. I use them on my hybrid bike and love them.
They're definitely lighter weight than some of the other cheaper Shimano pedals.
The platform is the perfect size for wearing regular shoes when you want to go for a quick ride.
I like being able to adjust the flow. I leave mine on the easiest flow and my cleat comes out quick and easy, but never accidentally. I like that the cleat release is only 1 directional, which prevents your cleat from coming out of the pedal when you don't want it to.

Comments about Shimano A530 SPD Sport Road Pedals:
Just did 50 miles with these pedals - very hilly ride, and then back into the city and through the streets. Rode clipped in with Specialized tour type shoes in the Park and in NJ, and on the platforms in the streets. I even reduced the tension in the springs to minimum and had no premature release riding hard in the hills. Nice stable feel in the clip, though would have liked having a wider platform to contact with the sole of the shoe. Very easy to clip into and out of. I commute during the week in the streets and thought it safer to have platforms for those times. This pedal is a very decent compromise
