Comments about Osprey ReSource Elroy Messenger Bag:
I've gone through a ton of messenger bags, backpacks, and briefcases over the years, looking for the perfect bag. Finally, I found it. I alternate commuting by bike and by subway and I often carry a ton of files between the office and home. This bag handles that task with aplomb. It has a lot of pockets, but not too many that things get lost. One thing I love is that the excess portion of the shoulder strap fits in one of the side mesh pockets, completely out of the way. I had a timbuk2 bag that would occasionally clothesline me because the excess strap would hook itself to something as a I walked by. It carries my laptop very nicely, no problems. Also, I'm left handed, so it's nice that I could switch the phone holder on the shoulder strap very easily to the other side of the bag, something my timbuk2 bag wouldn't allow. The little file pocket in the middle of the main part of the bag can only hold a few pieces of paper, which I initially found to be a joke, but now I find it invaluable when there's an important paper I have to carry around. Also, the divider in the main pocket is great as it keeps files upright. I've had messenger bags that were one cavernous main pocket and files were always falling down in them, making the bags very wide at the bottom and uncomfortable to carry. The only negative I can think of is that it leans to the casual end of the spectrum (it does not come in all black, for example), but given how it is otherwise perfect, I don't mind at all. One last thing, I love that it's made of recycled materials. More manufacturers should make bags this way.

Comments about Osprey ReSource Elroy Messenger Bag:
I was familiar with Osprey's high-quality backpacks, so gave this one a try when looking for a messenger bag for work. I commute to work via bus/foot or bike. This bag is comfortable, roomy and protects my 15" laptop well. It also has an expansion zipper when I need to carry something extra bulky, in addition to computer and files. The only potential con - there are a few too many pockets, the only one I really use is the pen/wallet/key organizer in the front. Sometimes extra pockets lead to confusion as to where things actually are in the bag. Small price to pay for such a stylish, eco-friendly bag.

Comments about Osprey ReSource Elroy Messenger Bag:
My wife bought me this bag for my b-day. I'm a bit of a gearhead, so I'm particular about equipment, and this bag is one of the best bags I have ever owned. All of the storage is well thought out and easily accessible, and the strap on the back is great for when riding your bike to work. I usually carry lunch, breakfast and a water bottle to work, and this fits all of that with extra space for papers, a laptop and a folder.

[...] this bag has held up great. For all the abuse I put my bags through I don't expect tons of mileage out of them. The Elroy, however, has surpassed my expectations. Lightweight and comfortable, yet durable, it holds everything I need for school or errands. The fact that it's made out of recycled materials is just the icing on the cake. I would definitely recommend it to any commuter.

I love this bag so far. I take it to work when I commute on my bike, and it holds everything I used to carry in my backpack, but in a much more organized way!

Comments about Osprey ReSource Elroy Messenger Bag:
I try to commute to work via bike a couple of times a week, so I picked up this bag because I was tired of lashing things onto my smaller bag. I initially was bummed over spending $ 100 on a bag (I am a poor working student), but I have got my money's worth out of this thing. The design is well thought out and makes this bag useful for traveling, school, work, or commuting (I use it for all 4). My wife has even used it as a diaper bag during some of out trips. This is a durable bag that travels well and is professional enough to take to meetings, but practical enough to use on the bike. In short, the bag is comfortable, adjustable, has tons of storage (but not enough that you forget where you left your stuff), and has as many uses as a Swiss Army knife. Go pick one up and see what all of the hype is about.

This bag is great. I travel across the country a lot and the best thing that I found about it was that it fit underneath the seat in from of me on an airplane easily so I can grab stuff when I want it without having to struggle with stuffing it back under the seat. It also has a zipper on the top so you can get into the main compartment without having to unclip the straps.

Comments about Osprey ReSource Elroy Messenger Bag:
I love this bag. 72% recycled materials...that's probably what drew me to it, but the bag itself is awesome. I carry my 17" MacBook Pro in it every day. My laptop fits great in it, the bag protects it really well, and there's a lot of room left for papers and everything else. Lots of accessible pockets for organizing. Seems pretty rugged and I know from experience that Osprey will stand behind their product if I ever have problems.
The only negative-ish thing I'll say is that it's tough to slide my laptop in without opening the front flap as they advertise. I think a 15" laptop would slide in fine, but trying to do it with a 17" seems like more trouble than it's worth...it just a little too tight. If you open the front flap and put it in that way, which isn't a pain at all, it fits just fine. Perfect fit for a 17" laptop.

Comments about Osprey ReSource Elroy Messenger Bag:
I needed a brief case for work, but a little extra everything for everyday use. The number of pockets makes it easy to keep organized. You can never have too many pockets in my opinion. The strap is exceedingly comfortable, even when running through the airport to catch a plane. Have tried a few others and settled on this one as it is the all around package. The only con is that when it is stuck "underneath the seat in front of you" it is a a pain to have to unbuckle the funky clips. I would rather have normal clips, but will probably replace them eventually anyway. If you need a rugged backpack to look professional, this is the one.

Comments about Osprey ReSource Elroy Messenger Bag:
I use my Bag Every Day of the week, I have recently moved back with my parents and spend a lot of time on campus and at friends houses. This bag allows me to carry 2 textbooks, my laptop and a ton of other gear, supplies. I live out of this bag, every pocket has a use and there are enough pockets to keep things very organized, but not so many pockets that you lose things.
What i love most about the bag.
*The top access zipper for your laptop. In class this is about all that i use to get my folder, laptop, and other supplies out of the bag. You can reach every part of the bag with out opening up the flap.
* The large Pocket on the Flap. I keep my random stuff that i frequently use up here and its great for quick easy access on the go.
* the Paper Holders. There is on outside on the back that is great when traveling as you can keep you document easily accessible, the only down side to this one is that its not big enough for a standard piece of paper. The one on the inside is great for keeping spare paper, assignment, pocket folders, etc. in.
Hands down this bag is great. I was skeptical at 1st even after reading all sorts of reviews but i have come to love my new bag. If the bag was any bigger i would not be able to comfortably carry it. Its made of recycled materials and has allowed me to make my life more organized with less trouble and money than before
