Comments about Panaracer Tourguard Pasela Slick Tire - 26 x 1.5:
I have 2500 miles of commuting and loaded touring on my current pair of these tires. No punctures and plenty of tread remaining. When this pair wears out, I'll buy another pair. I've used the 27" x 1.25" size of this tire with equally good results.
The tread is a good pattern for pavement and unpaved (stone-dust or packed dirt) paths. If you want to ride on rocks and mud, look for something else, but for reasonably civilized surfaces this tire is fine.

Comments about Panaracer Tourguard Pasela Slick Tire - 26 x 1.5:
I am a road biker and do a lot of training on an old mountain bike. I've tried a variety of 'skinny' tires on this bike (as there's no point riding knobbies on the highway), and these are the best I've found. They have good enough tread to ride thru sand for small stretches. They seem to last forever, as I have a set on now with probably over 5K miles that have never flatted. They can also be pumped up high--I set them at 80 psi. I have ridden over beer bottles and crushed them with these tires (not intentionally, but it happened). I do use spinskins with them--but I do this on all my bikes (life is too short to spend any of it standing on the side of the road playing with tubes). The main problem with these tires is that they are very hard to find.

Comments about Panaracer Tourguard Pasela Slick Tire - 26 x 1.5:
Bought them recently to replace the massive, sluggish "Kenda Komfort" tires that came on my REI Buzz V bike, since I ride only on pavement. Not really a slick tire in this size; has a shallow but busy tread, which is both good and bad, in that it performs well in braking and wet riding but has more rolling resistance and noise than I expected. Anxious for the tread to wear down a bit. Low profile and narrow (not 1.5 inch; more like 1.38), the tire rides very nicely and looks very cute from the side with its broad, gummy sidewalls; same sort of retro coolness as black Converse Allstars.
Cautions: steering will feel "twitchy" to those accustomed to huge knobby tires. Narrow enough to stick in trolley tracks, some storm drains. A few web reviews cite sidewall deterioration and some other long-term problems. You may need new tubes (1.25-1.5)
Will likely choose something else next time, but like them in the meantime, as they reasonably responsive and darned cute.
