Comments about Keen Voyageur Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:

I really liked these shoes, alot. So, I pains me to say that I just returned them today, six months after I bought them. The look great, and they are pretty comfortable with plenty of room. Out of the box, I was concerned about how stiff they were and the laces seemed really short. But, I'll say this, they broke in quickly, I guess, and the laces were fine. I did experience the same pinching sensation that others described but that eased as they broke in. I say, I guess, because the upper looked/felt like it had ways to go loosening up. My big problem was the soles. They're made of some cheap rubber, not Vibram, so like after a month of daily wear they were showing a lot of wear. After six months the entire heal had worn off. Not goood for a regular day hiker and daily road walker. So, they're called cross-trainers and the sole is described as "Nonmarking carbon rubber outsoles with aggressive 4mm multidirectional lugs for long-wearing durability and superb terrain bite" What terrain, carpet and grass? If they make the sole Vibram, I'll buy another pair. Otherwise, guess I'll have to find another shoe I love.

Comments about Keen Voyageur Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:

I don't know why they are called cross training, but then in the discription called hiking shoe. They are certainly a capable backpacking and hiking shoe. I just completed a 2 day backpacking trip for 15 miles in the Yosemite area and they are very comfortable, roomy and stable. They are also much cooler than my pair of Goretex hiking boots. The only problem I had is the lace pressure on the top of my left foot. After the first day of hiking it felt as it was hit with a hammer. Now I make sure and lace it very loose, but surprisingly my foot is still very secure and stable in the shoe. Hopefully this will get better after they break in.

Comments about Keen Voyageur Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:

I bought these shoes specifically to take on a trip to Costa Rica. The trip involved a lot of hiking in wet and muddy conditions so I was looking for a shoe that would provide reasonable protection and would allow water to flow through. The shoes performed this function but quickly fell apart.
I admit that I gave these shoes a reasonably hard time but after the three weeks of the trip much of the sole had worn out, stitching around the toe bumper had come undone and the heel had worn through to reveal the stupidly sharp, blister inducing heel structure.
Like other reviewers I found the shoes were comfortable, the laces will not stay tied up and traction on any wet surface was pretty ordinary.

Comments about Keen Voyageur Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:

I have used these shoes for only 3 months in South America and the tread is already peeling off and wearing down. My wife has some similar Merrill shoes that have done the same hikes as these and they are in much better shape. The cheap soles are peeling off. See the little black side 'claws' glued onto the grey sponge on the sole? They peel right off when you hike on rocks. If they had decent Vibram soles, I would rate them a five because they are so comfortable, but they don't. Instead, I spent [$] for shoes that only lasted 3 months.

Comments about Keen Voyageur Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:

I have a long (size 15), narrow foot that is difficult to fit. These shoes slipped out of their box and onto my feet like a pair of well worn gloves. I cannot praise their fit enough. However, two things I noticed (one a nuisance/the other a structural complaint) that bother me.
First, the moulding around the base of the shoe delaminated a wee bit the first day I wore them. I thought this would prove problematic but it hasn't. More of an aesthetic issue than anything. Secondly, and this is really a nuisance--you can change them as you wish-the laces WILL NOT stay tied. I mean, if you held a gun to their tiny lace heads and threatened to pull the trigger, they would still come undone. And then where would you be, blowing a hole in your foot and ruining, not only those aggravating laces, but the shoes as well? Still, these issues are not bother enough to keep from recommending them. They are great to train in and make your feet look mighty handsome.

Comments about Keen Voyageur Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:

I bought these shoes last weekend, and have maybe put about 20 miles on them and they are starting already to fall apart. I should have believed the reviews that I read, but they were so so comfy when I tried them on I thought "maybe these shoes will be better than the ones that everyone else bought and reviewed," Well this was not the case, take a look at the pic. You can see that the whole sole on the left shoe is coming off! The tread is also starting to wear and become slick.

Comments about Keen Voyageur Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:

I recommend these shoes for day hikes and general traveling. I bought these shoes prior to a trip to Hawaii - I liked them so much my wife bought a pair as well. In Hawaii we put these shoes to the test, we hiked aggressive trails over the course of a 14 day trip. We wore these shoes on trails ranging from old lava with sharp edges to muddy trails in a rain forrest. These shoes performed beautifully, they held up to sharp lava that would have shredded tennis shoes. They are very comfortable and breath well due to the side vents. They are not meant for back country or heavy duty hiking trips. But they are great for day trips and for casual wear on the weekends. Keen makes great shoes and these shoes continue that trend.

Comments about Keen Voyageur Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:

These are without a doubt the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. My feet tend to sweat and so-called "waterproof" shoes I've tried make the problem worse. These shoes breath so well I can tell a huge difference.

Although I haven't tried them out on the trail yet, I'm convinced they will do a good job on light-duty hiking.

I'm so impressed with these shoes that I plan to buy another pair to keep in reserve!
