Comments about Big Agnes Copper Spur 3 Tent:
Big Agnes really hit a Grand Slam with this one. 44 square feet of space and 4 pounds 3 ounces. Ultra light and very very roomy for 2. Roomy enough for 3. I first bought the REI Quarter Dome T3 tent which was outstanding in every way, and an excellent value. The Copper Spur 3 is even lighter and roomier than the REI product, and has larger vestibules. The only downside to the Copper Spur 3 is the high price. It is worth every penny! Set up is fast and easy. The pitch is taught. I also like the fact that there are privacy panels that extend about 2 feet up around the bottom of the tent. A nice feature when camping in a campground without the rainfly attached. I would also recommend Big Agnes' gear loft which makes it easy to organize gear for 3 campers. With the fly attached ventilation is very good. As the materials are extremely light, I could not recommend this tent for 4 season winter mountaineering. I have done extensive research, and there simply is no roomier, lighter 3 person tent on the market.

Comments about Big Agnes Copper Spur 3 Tent:
I own a Big Agnes Seedhouse SL2 and had a trip planned for myself and a couple of friends rather than carry two tents I decided to spend my dividend on a three man. I was going to purchase an SL3 until I saw this tent. Boy am I glad I did. I love this tent. It ended up being two of us on the trip and the tent was enormous! Even with three it would have been quite nice and roomy. We weathered two nights of 30-60 mph wind gusts, a branch falling on the tent and some pretty incredible storms rolling over us. We both slept like babies. The branch was small and the tent was strong enough that it just bounced off. The winds barely moved the fly even with the big gusts. I would highly recommend this tent to anyone wanting a lightweight 3 man tent. The only thing I can say even slightly negative is that I have to stoop over a little farther to get in than the Seedhouse. The matching footprint is nice too.

Comments about Big Agnes Copper Spur 3 Tent:
I upgraded to the Copper Spur after reading the reviews about it. Right out of the box the tent was subjected to being set up in the dark for the first time, a weeks worth of rain, wind, and sand. There wasn't one leak and it was completely stable during the windy nights. The foot print and gear loft are a must have. The tent had plenty of room for three and it feels like a hotel with only two people. It is costly however, you get what you pay for.

Comments about Big Agnes Copper Spur 3 Tent:
It is sooooo worth the money! I haven't regretted spending so much on a tent for one minute. My boyfriend is 6'2" and the two of us and our packs, and our dog (115 lb yellow lab) all fit in this tent just fine. I applaud Big Agnes for the weight/quality/durability/size/design. I must figure out a way to pack it smaller though :D it takes up about half the room in my pack...

Comments about Big Agnes Copper Spur 3 Tent:
Finally a tent I feel comfortable in... not cramped up. I'm 6'1" and need room to toss around in when I sleep. This tent is actually long enough for me! The vestibules will hold 1 pack on each side and enough room to cook with my Jet-boil when it's raining outside. I like to keep my pack next to me so this is a very nice 1 man, 1 dog, 1 pack tent. If you have prior tent assembly experience this tent practically sets itself up.I had NO problem getting in or out of this tent. The tent even comes with a repair sleeve in case a pole breaks! I paid ALOT for this tent and have done the North Face scene (not so happy). This tent is worth the money and I'm VERY pleased with it. Big Agnes has some good tent designers and deserves the high rating they got from Backpacker magazine. Kenny

Comments about Big Agnes Copper Spur 3 Tent:
I first purchased this tent for a cross country trip from the East Coast to the West Coast and back with a friend. By the end of the trip, We visited 19 states, 6 National Parks and camped in this tent in temperatures as low as the 20's (Fahrenheit). This trip took us over a month, during which time ~90% of our nights were spent in this tent. Since then, I've also used this tent on numerous camping/backpacking trips and have loved it.Pros:- Spacious. Huge for a 3P tent. Sleeps 3 adults or 2 big guys comfortably without feeling like sardines in a can. The vestibules also gives you plenty of space to store your gear.- Watertight. The included rain fly does its job. The tent wall seams are raised about 3" off the ground, and then the seams are taped, so even if there's puddling around the tent, you'll stay bone dry inside. - Minimal condensation. Even when it's pouring out, you can open prop open the side vents and stay dry, while minimizing condensation. My down bag never got wet during the entire trip.- Durable. You wouldn't expect such durability from a light tent like this, but I've yet to have a single tear in the fabric (though there is a little stress tear in the stuff sack for the tent body). I've used this tent for over 45 nights already, just to give you a good idea about the craftsman ship of this feather weight.Cons:- Expensive! [$] for a 3 person tent is nothing to sneer at.If you want lightest 3P tent without sacrificing livability and durability, no matter the price, then this is the perfect tent for you. It doesn't get better than this.

Comments about Big Agnes Copper Spur 3 Tent:
After one full year of using the Big Agnes Copper Spur 3 I felt compelled to write a review to recommend this tent. In the past year I have used this tent on a 60+ mile orienteering trek in the Wrangell St. Elias, a 40+ miler in the Maroon Bells wilderness in Colorado and about a dozen other small trips in wilderness areas in Colorado and Eastern Utah. The Big Agness has held up in the worst of weather (Alaska) and is so easy to set up under any condition. Being a tent junky for the past 30 years I have owned and or used many brands and types of tents for backpacking. This is the last tent I will ever purchase. It is as good as it gets.

Comments about Big Agnes Copper Spur 3 Tent:
I started Backpacking years ago when gear was heavy and not so evolved. Now that I'm putting together a new backpacking set-up I chose this tent after doing a lot of research. I wanted something lightweight but comfortable, and that could accommodate a last minute addition to the party, or a card game in the rain.
Although it is expensive I have not regretted my decision one second. This tent is strong, easy to set up with the best pole design I've ever used.
Every night I use it I just saved another $100 over a hotel - so my investment in this tent will save me 1,000s over the years and give me a portable Hilton hotel I can strap on my back.
The way it sets up easily, (and used without the rain fly), it could make a good shelter to escape from bugs on a picnic or day hike, and the footprint and rain fly can be combined - without the tent, for an emergency shelter.
If you buy one you wont regret it. It puts a smile on my face just thinking about using it! The only possible downside is it does take up some room, but I bought a large pack that can haul it and still have room to spare.
When I strap the whole thing on my back, including my bag, pack, tent, stove, water filtration, etc - no clothes/food water - the whole thing ways less than my old tent we used to lug around - Now that's sweet!
