Comments about Merrell Waterpro Maipo Water Shoes - Men's:
I purchased this shoe for a canyoneering trip in Zion National Park. I wanted something comfortable, with good traction, would let the water escape quickly, and hold up to the demands of a canyoneering adventure. This shoe filled all my requirements listed above but failed miserably on the last requirement. The shoe was very comfortable, had pretty good traction (even on wet surfaces), and allowed the water to quickly escape. However, just after three days of use, the shoe was ripped up everywhere. Just the slightest abrasion on the outside and the orange straps quickly wore through. For less demanding activities this is a good shoe.

Very comfortable, with neoprene on tongue of shoe, but should have some more for top of toes.

Comments about Merrell Waterpro Maipo Water Shoes - Men's:
Even though this has a vibram soul, the tread in not aggressive enough. In the water these shoes are slicker than the moss that I walk on. In only a few uses I have already had enough dry rot that I cannot lace up the shoes any more. I now have an expensive pair of shoes that I cannot use again.

Comments about Merrell Waterpro Maipo Water Shoes - Men's:
I kid you not...these are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. I use them for canoe trips in the BWCA (as well as general wear)...dry quick and yet give you the comfort and support that you need. The best water shoe I've seen yet! (Nice styling too.) Note: they are as quiet as slippers (I think the one reviewer got a defective pair).

Comments about Merrell Waterpro Maipo Water Shoes - Men's:
The Merrell Waterpro Maipo shoes I purchased from REI online in June 08 are comfortable, perform well and look great, but both shoes squeak loudly with each step I make and the squeak gets worse every time I wear them. I think the shoes are great and I’m hoping I simply received a defective pair. I’m returning them to REI for an exchange. Let’s hope the next pair is quieter.

Comments about Merrell Waterpro Maipo Water Shoes - Men's:
I had trouble with the sizeing, my Merrel boots are 10 and i ended up getting 8 1/2's in these.I did got a blister on my ring toe, after hiking 3 miles to the creek and back. which im not used to with my other merrells. the sole wants to come out with my foot when i take them off if there not yet. Still i love these shoes. They drain very fast and protect my feet while walking in water. No more sore feet for me!

Comments about Merrell Waterpro Maipo Water Shoes - Men's:
I purchased this shoe 4 years ago and they are just wearing out. I love this shoe. We paddle about 200-250 miles a year. At least one trip a month, and these shoes get the job done. They dry quick, easy to get on, super comfy and light. My only gripe, I wish they had a bit more traction.

Comments about Merrell Waterpro Maipo Water Shoes - Men's:
Great shoes! The only problem is that they do not last a long time. After 6 months of sporadic wear the binding on the shoes broke and the integrity of the shoe was lessened. I still wear them, but it would be nice if they were back at 100%.

Comments about Merrell Waterpro Maipo Water Shoes - Men's:
These shoes are great water shoes. They've been to the beach, the lake, and the river. I use them for wading in the water. They have good traction on slippery surfaces. I have worn them in the water a dozen times now and still no smell. I am very pleased with this purchase.

They are a little expensiv. But i wear them everywhere. They are slylish and let my feet breath. unlike regular shoes. So comfortable i can go for miles. They are Merrels after all. It's worth the money.
