Comments about Arc'teryx Rampart Long Shorts - Men's:
My first piece of Arc'teryx gear, these are a great all-purpose pair of shorts. Comfortable and with enough pockets for hiking and backpacking, a good fit and clean look suitable for travel, and enough stretch and durability for rock climbing (and the right length for wearing a harness).

Comments about Arc'teryx Rampart Long Shorts - Men's:
Read some good things about these shorts, so I decided to give them a try. Waited for the anniversary sale to get them, [$] shorts is a bit ridiculous but they are worth it. I wore them kayaking last summer and there was some water splashing in, the water beaded off and did not penetrate. They air dry exceptionally quickly. I'm a tall guy so I like lengthy shorts. These were just fine in that category Some complained of the swish swish sound while walking, I wouldnt have noticed if no one said anything. Its really not bad. My only gripe with them are the hand pockets. The top starts to bend or fold indward if you use the pockets alot. Difficult to explain, but a minor issue. These are great shorts! I'm eyeing my second set

Comments about Arc'teryx Rampart Long Shorts - Men's:
These shorts are very lightweight and won't take up much room in a backpack. I thought with the long inseam that these shorts would go just past the knee, but the crotch is pretty high up, so even with a 14 inch inseam, they only reach down to mid-knee or so. I typically wear a 32 inch inseam for pants btw. But they're not "short shorts" like some of the hiking shorts, which means that you can wear them in a non-hiking situation. I was sweating pretty good the other day when I wore them on a 20 mile or so bike and hike and I could tell the sweat was not gonna seep through to the outside and make a visible mark. This is pretty important.
They make a little bit of swooshing, nothing significant.
The pockets are made of the same material as the shorts and there's seemingly no risk of holes forming in the pockets.
For the price though, these shorts better last me at least 5 years.

Comments about Arc'teryx Rampart Long Shorts - Men's:
These ARE shorts of the future.
They do NOT rip.
They do NOT stain (liquid does not soak into them therefore no possibility of a stain)
They do NOT restrict movement.
Seriously, 10 years from now when we're all living in a perfect society like in equilibrium everyone will wear these shorts.
They dry in seconds. I don't even take these shorts off unless I have to change my underwear.

Comments about Arc'teryx Rampart Long Shorts - Men's:
I just completed a thru-hike of the High Sierra Trail. At the end of seven days, I still loved these lightweight comfy shorts. They breathe like a dream, dry in a flash, and hold up to all kinds of abuse. And they look great, even when they've got a week's worth of dirt on them.
They are my first-in-line go-to shorts for hiking any time of the year. Love 'em.

Comments about Arc'teryx Rampart Long Shorts - Men's:
I felt bad about spending [$] on a pair of shorts……until the first time i climb'd in them. These are the most comfortable shorts you will ever wear if you are a rock climber. It felt like they were not even there!!!!!! They have some give and stretch so you can flex any way you need. I love these shorts, and i plan to buy the pant version when it starts to get cool out.

Comments about Arc'teryx Rampart Long Shorts - Men's:
These shorts are nearly perfect for me, with typical Arc'teryx design thoughtfulness: pockets that keep your stuff contained with a clever flap that eliminates the need for zippers or buttons; super-durable front snap closure; and material that stretches just enough to make them exceptionally comfortable. They dry in minutes, so they serve as my swim shorts as well. Another nice feature is the double snap in the front: after a big dinner, I move it over to the second snap for a little extra room. Two very minor imperfections: The fabric is a touch loud...just a touch, and I wish the pockets had drainage grommets for swimming. Overall, great shorts -- easily the best I have.

Comments about Arc'teryx Rampart Long Shorts - Men's:
Really nice shorts. Very comfortable and nicely cut. They seem sturdy but are still light.
The sizing is about a size up. Usually I wear a 34 inch waist, but for these a 32 fits me better.

Comments about Arc'teryx Rampart Long Shorts - Men's:
These are the best shorts I've ever owned. They are very light-weight, and breathable. I went backpacking for a week in them and fell in love with them. I decided to go ahead and wear them white-water rafting, and they dried out faster than all my friends' swimsuits! I would highly recomend them to anyone who backpacks, camps, or does anything in the outdoors.
