Comments about The North Face Solaris 35 Pack:
This pack held up tremendously through everything from long hikes to rough treatment at airport security. The adjustment points are designed extremely well, and are customizable to any size hiker. I especially like the molded backplate integrated into the pack that helps keep its form.
Another nice feature is the hammock-divider in the bottom of the pack which is nice for keeping a fleece and rain gear separate from the rest of the pack yet still accessible. This pack also has tons of pockets, which makes organizing gear extremely easy.

Comments about The North Face Solaris 35 Pack:
This pack is AMAZING! I wanted something I could throw some weight into for training around the neighborhood. This is perfect! Very comfortable to wear, especially carrying 30lbs. of water.
I just wish REI would have had it in other colors.

Comments about The North Face Solaris 35 Pack:
The thing I like about this pack is that it has ample room for any day adventure you can muster and is extremely well built and comfortable.
There is a large sleeve that accomodates a 3 liter hydration bladder and enough room for extra clothing, food and whatever else you need for a dayhike. The side mesh pockets are big enough to hold 2 Nalgene water bottles and the trekking pole loops hold your trekking poles well. I plan to graduate into an overnight adventure, and with a minimalist approach I probably could strap on some light weight overnight gear as well, although this pack isn't designed for that from what I gather.
The pack itself is made out of thick material and I can see it holding up well over the long run.
The selling point for me is the comfort level and ability to cinche the pack down to your back. The straps are padded extemely well and the waist strap once cinched down really helps taking the weight off of your shoulders.
You can't go wrong with this pack if your excursions are from dusk to dawn, but you will need a bigger pack for any multi-day excursions although with a little ingenuity in packing and a minimilast approach it probably could serve as a 2 day pack.
