Comments about Big Agnes Farwell +0 Sleeping Bag - Regular:
I try to go minimalist on weight, but I go for comfort when sleeping. Still, this bag is just too much for backpacking. At 4 lbs for the bag and another 2.5 lbs for the pad, it's a lot of weight. But another concern is the size. After the fight to get it into the compression sack there is another battle to get into my backpack and then the pad is nearly 2 ft long too. It's all too much for backpacking.
That said, I'd love it for car camping. It's big, warm, roomy and comfortable. You know, I think I would take it backpacking if someone else would carry it for me.

So. I really wanted to love these Big Agnes bags. I thought the idea of the integrated pad was good. I also thought the bags would be warm. For some reason I even thought their weight was good. Oh how I was wrong on all three counts.
The bag is really quite heavy and is not for backpacking at all. Go and compare it to the Marmot's. It also quite bulky and does not stuff well.
The zipper snags all the time and the way the pad is inserted requires some kind of pillow to stop your neck being thrown back into breaking position. I have also realized that this is a bad system for side sleepers as the bag will not turn with you. Also, on a slightly funnier side. If a bear was to roam into your tent or you just needed to sit up in a hurry, you can't! You are basically strapped to your pad. This caused a few funny moments.
Lastly heat. Now I am a cold sleeper. I have been referred to as a penguin. I have tried the 30 and 15 also by the way. Well. I freeze in this bag, it retains no heat whatsoever. The person besides me in a Marmot lithium says he feels like he's in an oven with just his underwear. I have full think thermals and a fleece and my teeth are chattering. Three separate trips. I am today buying a Marmot Helium and I just can't wait to get in it. I would say this bag is a 30 at the very best.

Comments about Big Agnes Farwell +0 Sleeping Bag - Regular:
Yes, it's not super light but if comfort is important then it's worth a few more ounces. It's roomy and comfortable with lots of leg room. If you don't like mummy bags then this semi-rectangle is a good option. I hiked Isle Royale with this bag and was very happy to climb into it every night. My only complaints are that the zipper does get caught often (but it's easy enough to undo) and there is no padding/filling on the bottom side.

I don't like the underside without warm even with pad put in. Also, the material around the zipper needs to be firmer. I got the material caught in the zipper several times and this is more so than other bags.
