Comments about Arc'teryx Alpha LT Jacket - Men's:
This is one of the finest pieces of gear I own. It has seemingly flawless construction. I just don't understand how a product can be made so cleanly and effectively. I can almost feel the love of the manufacturers every time I put it on. It is insanely waterproof, windproof, and breathable. This is supposodly the lightest of the Arcteryx Pro Shells, but it still seems to be outrageously durable. I don't doubt that this will stick with me for the rest of my life if I take care of it and it doesn't burn in a wildfire (which almost happened a few weeks ago). I must declare that I am a member of the Gore Mountaintechs product testing program, so I sometimes have the privilege of testing Gore-Tex and windstopper gear. Regardless, this piece of gear continues to blow me away. I say this about very few things, but this jacket may actually be worth it's [$] retail price.

Comments about Arc'teryx Alpha LT Jacket - Men's:
Very few jackets in its class. I've used this jacket mainly for backpacking. Was excellent in every way. Really showed why it is one of the best during a 4 day backpacking trip in Yosemite (light, packable, easy to layer). We were the last ones to reach the top of half dome - cold and windy going up the cables. I had only a wool t-shirt on - and I was warm and dry. It was also stylish enough to wear in Paris - easy to wear layers. Hood is a little big (but good if wearing a helmet). Very versatile jacket.

Comments about Arc'teryx Alpha LT Jacket - Men's:
Alpha LT is SUPER lightweight, yet, it tourned out very durable, have been wearing it for the last 2 years, from hiking trip to biz meetings, and it's still going strong. I have a few types of rain jackets from Arc, but Alpha LT seems always my go-to jacket. It is very minimal design, and I'm not always big fan of the pocket design (prefer a hand warmer, rather than cross)or not able to store the hood, but that's minor details and not worth adding extra weight.

Comments about Arc'teryx Alpha LT Jacket - Men's:
The alpha LT is one of the best hard shells out there by Arc'teryx in my opinion. The jacket is a perfect balance of durablity and packability (packs down just as well as a goretex paclite shell). It is so versatile I use it throughout the whole year. Since its so light, it can be worn in the summer on a rainy days, but can be layered over a fleece or other layering piece in the winter. I also own a alpha SV and use it for snowboarding during the winter season. The SV is much more durable having thicker goretex material which limits its use. The LT can be used for winter sports as well. The LT's fit is similar to the SV, both having enough room for layering throughout. Although with this extra room, the jacket still looks nice and can be worn for whatever the occasion is. Overall, the LT is a techinical jacket intended for climbing so it is made to be used in harsh conditions. It can be packed down so small you'll have plenty of extra room in your pack. My only gripe about the jacket is that it is not available in an XS size. Im 5'11" and I wear a small in this jacket and its slightly big.
On another note, the alpha LT and SV I own are both made in Canada and they are still continuing to make these 2 series of jackets in Canada. But I have owned many China made arc'teryx products and they all perform just as well.

Comments about Arc'teryx Alpha LT Jacket - Men's:
I have looked forward for awhile to get this coat. I had to save up but I knew it would be worth it. It is an extemely light jacket that protects you from the elements as well as any shell out there. Why add weight in the shell when in reality it is your layering prowess that creates the perfect atmosphere close to the skin, that of being comfortable. I will say that I own a Theta AR for skiing because it is just so tough, I love skiing in the trees. But this Alpha LT has proven that it can handle any weather thrown at me here in Colorado. Whether it is rain, snow, wind, blizzard, this coat has kept me dry and comfortable. There is plenty of room for layering for either a causual walk or a chilling acent above timberline. But also it is very strong and resistent to abrasions, in fact a few times I thought I had ripped it and there was not even a scratch on it. Outside of its lack of weight it is its strength that has supprised me the most, very tough material. Being so light the layering concept has become simplified. If you love being outdoors despite the possible weather conditions this shell would be an excellent choice to defend against whatever mother nature has to offer. The quality is excellent and the design well thought out. The hood can literally be form fitted to your head with or without a helmet. The secret is in the simplicity, functionality, and quality of the manufacturing. I am so excited to have such a gem tucked away in my pack as I head out into the wild, ready to be used when the weather turns, and to top it off it packs down so small (the size of large t-shirt) and weighs almost nothing. Top notch gear for adventuring in the Rockies.

Fantastic jacket -- unbelievably light, breathable and comfortable. Perfect zippers and hood. My new favorite. The fit is good but not perfect; size M has all the right lengths (I am 5'11", 164 lb.) but is a little baggy. Other jackets, e.g. Patagonia Stretch Element, have a slimmer fit than the Alpha LT.

Comments about Arc'teryx Alpha LT Jacket - Men's:
First, let me begin by saying how over priced Arcteryx products are. Gore Tex in general is very cheap to buy. Its not an expensive fabric at all. the Proshell as being touted as their "top of the line" does its job however other fabric is actually better such as a laminate. Second, Arcteryx has moved the majority of its manufacturing to China making the product even more cheap to make. Why anyone in this day in age needs to spend over $500 on a cheap, inexpensive jacket made of Gortex is beyond me. Yes, the jacket itself is well made however the cost is not justified. The Goretex Proshell will break down over time like anything else. These arent products we will "pass down to generation to generation." Arcteryx needs to seriously re adjust the price structure of their products. You do not get alot of bang for your buck with them for sure.

Comments about Arc'teryx Alpha LT Jacket - Men's:
I wrote the previous review some time ago, but have since had problems with the Alpha Lt. Perhaps I was too rough on the jacket, but hey, it's a proshell product from Arc'teryx so that's what I expected I could do. Moral of the story, the jacket started seeing significant wear and tear of the fabric at the sleeves and the gore-tex membrane was peeling away. I sent it back to Arc'teryx and they agreed the product was faulty....I now have a Alpha SV hanging in my closet [...]. This is a much more durable jacket if the half dozen ounces more don't bother you.Cheers,Arc'teryx's boyfriend

Comments about Arc'teryx Alpha LT Jacket - Men's:
I have used the jacket in every possible condition to do a variety of activities. It has surpassed my every expectation, and I often run my sleeve under the faucet in sinks just to see the look on peoples faces when my arm is dry afterwards. Greatest jacket ever made, my only regret is that I couldn't get approved for another mortgage on my house to get one in each color.

Comments about Arc'teryx Alpha LT Jacket - Men's:
This is a great jacket, well worth the money, allthough it cost a lot more here in Norway than i the Us. Anyway, the solution for air, that you open the zippers under your armhole does not work very well. It would have been better if the zipper where on your shoulders, so that you get fresh air in easyier. Otherwise is it a great jacket
