Comments about The North Face Snowshoe +0 Sleeping Bag - Long:
I bought this bag to replace my old, very worn, mummy bag and have been very pleased with it so far. The positives of this bag are the warmth and comfort. The synthetic material is easily compressed but still fluffy, warm, and comfortable even after several days of use. It is also very dependable in wet conditions, and keeps you warm if the elements find their way to you while sleeping.
Negatives of this bag are basically the zipper and hood, and the included stuff sack. The zipper is difficult to open and is right by your face while sleeping. They seemed to forget to include a practical way of stowing it out of the way, like a small pocket, so it constantly dangles near/on your face at night. The hood doesn't have a good system to close it, and it takes a few trips to really master. In cold conditions I like my hood to pull down as small as possible, but the hood on this bag can't be closed very tight. Finally, the stuff sack doesn't compress well and you would be better off buying a new one. The bag has great potential and can be compressed a lot more than the stuff sack allows.
All in all, this is a bag well worth the cost. It is very warm and is well within its temperature rating (if not warmer). I would recommend this bag to anyone who is serious about backpacking, and looking for a warm, reliable, sleep bag.

Bought this bag for a 3 day back country camp trip to Jackson Hole, it was colder than 0 and was still warm. Zipper needs improvement, and hood design is something to be desired.

Comments about The North Face Snowshoe +0 Sleeping Bag - Long:
This bag is great! I've used it on 4 different trips so far and each time I am thoroughly impressed.
My last outing was to a field in the far upper midwest. The night started out beautifully so I slept out under the stars with no tent. I would guess that it was still about 20 degrees outside. About halfway through the night it started to rain and eventually snow. I woke up in the morning with a layer of snow on my bag and me on the inside warm and dry. The next night was the same story but even colder; close to, if not below, 0 degrees.
On top of all of that goodness, I carry it in my REI Cruise backpack and still have room for my clothes, food, and other extra camping necessities.
This bag is a winner. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who goes out camping in inclement weather. I can't wait to go camping mid-winter and see how it holds up to the truest elements

I used this product in Yosemite in March 2008. It rained all night and I woke up to snow in the morning. I slept like a baby and was never cold the entire evening. I have used it for summer trips also. It is a great all around sleeping bag.

Comments about The North Face Snowshoe +0 Sleeping Bag - Long:
The North Face used to make some pretty impressive gear, but this isn't even close. I found the basic construction to be cheap and the bag was very uncomfortable! The inner lining was more like "Wind Breaker" material and the basic design was very constricting and tight. I took the bag back and replaced it with the REI "Kilo Expedition" and couldn't be happier!! I've owned a lot of cold weather bags through the year's and personally feel that TNF doesn't stand up to their hard earned reputation anymore....my opinion. Not trying to step on toes here, but I've had bag's by Eddie Bauer that were of better quality!

I have taken this bag everywhere! I've been to Zion, The top of the Wasatch mountains in snow and in the car in Jackson Wy. I mostly use this for winter camping and have only used it once in the summer as a blanket, and it still got too hot. I really don't like mummy bags unless it's super cold then I'll zip up all the way. When I have used this in the winter I slept on snow with a tent and a 2in. thick REI pad and was plenty warm. Like I said I don't usually zip up all the way so I usually sleep with my NF 700 down fill coat on and just leave the bag zipper unzipped, but never have had any problems with my legs getting cold. Sometimes it gets a little too warm even in the cold and I'll just use it like a blanket. I'm 6'6 and 250 so it's a little tight but super cozy and really warm.

Comments about The North Face Snowshoe +0 Sleeping Bag - Long:
so i was first saw this bag i was comparing it to the mountain hardwear universe sl, but i needed the extra room in a long bag and so i went with this.
TNF is not really the type of gear that id either recommend unless its their tents, and being as avid as i am almost 2 times a week im always in need of not only comfortable gear im also looking for durable gear.
so the first night i used this was totally unintentional, i carry a sierra designs trade wind 15 degree bag awesome and definitely worth it if you can find it. so my cuz went with me and for some reason and we headed up to crater lake up in the indian peak wilderness.
colorado is really a true test to gear and we went in april, our objective was lone eagle peak, but we ended up setting camp early.
so to the bag and to the point, temps dropped below 0 no doubt, this bag ended up performing super well while my cuz said he had no prob with the trade wind and he was plenty warm i was rather toasty, and having an extra long bag allowed me to put my gear in the bottom of my bag and i was able to change inside this bag.
its not super tight and the zipper did and does get snagged, i usually put on some wax for a bike chain and usually takes care of any inconveniences, but well worth it if your looking at this bag. its not super small its not down and its not waterproof but when you relying that you'll make it through the night, in dipping temps you can count on this bag to perform properly, the synthetic fill works great, not a summer bag and im glad i went with this one. so thank you TNF,
just a note i use a pro light 4

I went camping for 30 days in Canada in Late April Early May and it stood up great, I was plenty warm I think I zipped it up all the way once, the zipper does snag EXTREMELY easily so that is what is the worst part of the bag in my opinion. also the hood does not cover your whole face so if that is what you are looking for this bag does not fit what you need.

This is truly a great bag. I have spent a few nights in this sleeping bag since the time of purchase and I have been impressed with both the warmth and design of the bag.
I went on a one-night backpacking trip with this bag, it got down to about 10 degrees and I was so warm I did not even have to use the hood.
Overall, this would be an excellent bag for anyone who does not mind sacrificing a little weight for a lot of money savings.

Comments about The North Face Snowshoe +0 Sleeping Bag - Long:
I spent an overnight just above tree line on the side of Mt. Evans in this bag. My group's estimate (along with the weather forecast) was that the overnight temperature with wind chill was somewhere in the range of -20 degrees. I was almost hot in this bag. I woke with frost in my hair, the inside of the tent covered in a layer of ice, but I was totally warm. I had a thin layer of polypro and wool socks. There was plenty of room for me (6'4") and my boot liners, shell pants, coat, gloves, and hat in the bag. I was extremely happy with the performance of this bag. It easily matched my friends -20 bag without the added weight.
