Comments about The North Face Cat's Meow +20 Sleeping Bag - Regular:
This is a 30deg bag in reality, based on 2 nights with temps down to 30 and 22F, while wearing a normal base-layer. The insulation just doesn't have enough loft. I checked the weight to make sure it actually had as much fill as it was supposed to. After only 2 nights use the bottom insulation has also compressed noticeably. Viewed as a 30deg bag the weight and pack volume is about the same as any other manufacturers, and the cost is high. Durability is in doubt.

Comments about The North Face Cat's Meow +20 Sleeping Bag - Regular:
Used a friends June '07 on an overnight at Mt. Rainier from Paradise to Miur. Got caught in white out conditions at about 7,800'. Had to set up camp and wait out storm til morning. The bag was very warm and comfy. Just what I expected. Temps were in the low 20's (F). Went out and bought the latest model. Slept in an igloo February '08 near Snoqualmie Pass, Easton, Wa. Temps were in the teens overnight. Once again warm and comfy.

Comments about The North Face Cat's Meow +20 Sleeping Bag - Regular:
I purchased many gear from REI and for my canoe trip in Canada. This sleeping bag was outstanding even in the heat of 85 degrees!!So when i was up there of course the weather changed from 85 to 35 and it definitely did the deed yet again. This sleeping bag fits to the size of a junior size basketball and then you can compress it down more. It is cheaper than the other brands by 30 dollars and this sleeping bag has been made for many years and has won many previous awards for its excellence.~josh

Comments about The North Face Cat's Meow +20 Sleeping Bag - Regular:
I'm just getting into backpacking, and the Cat's Meow is my first "real" bag. Just used it last night on a backpacking trip, and I was very pleased. It is very light and packs small in the included cinch sack.
The temp. got down to 30 or so, and I was a little TOO warm. I was wearing lightweight pants and two 1/4 zip shirts, and wigwam socks; I think I could have more than been comfortable without all these clothes.
The bag would benefit from having an extra shoulder baffle, as some warm air escaped through the opening. Also, it would have been nice to be able to stuff clothes in the hood to form a pillow; there was not much room to do this.
Overall, I am very pleased with my new bag and would absolutely recommend it!

Comments about The North Face Cat's Meow +20 Sleeping Bag - Regular:
I spent two nights in this bag during a trip to West Virginia in October and awoke frozen in both nights when temperature drops to about 30 degree. I had long underwear on both top and bottom. The second night I had wool socks on at first then I took them off but that turned out to be a mistake.
The bag has some features I cannot say for sure good or bad. But they would not matter because it can not keep me warm 10 degrees above its rating.

Comments about The North Face Cat's Meow +20 Sleeping Bag - Regular:
over the past weekend i decided to break in my new cats meow and i was excited until i attempted to put it in its "stuff sack" this bag does not compress easy nor does it leave much room in your pack. which was a headache.
second: the zipper snagged both times i had to get out of my bag during the night and one time i fought with it for a solid 15 minutes and when i finally got it unstuck the zipper teeth crossed leaving a nice gap for a draft.
the bag did keep me warm enough, but not a comfortable warm and im a warm sleeper.

Comments about The North Face Cat's Meow +20 Sleeping Bag - Regular:
It's small, lightweight, and warm. I haven't seen a real cold night in it yet, but at 40 degrees it keeps extremely warm. It took me a while to decide on this bag, but I'm glad I did. It is well worth every penny.
