Comments about Teva Westwater Shoes - Women's:
This shoe is extremely comfortable and manages to be functional (durable, decent support, breathes) while also crossing over the line into "trendy" -- an unusual accomplishment for Teva :) The colors (Pesto) are great and the shoe works really well for anyone with an oddly-sized foot, especially a wide toe. Because of the mesh, the shoe can accommodate a range of widths. Also, this shoe does not rub on your foot like so many flats do. Only bad thing I've found so far is that you have to be careful about protecting your arch when walking over large rocks, for example~the sole has a lot of flex but not a lot of protection.

Comments about Teva Westwater Shoes - Women's:
Hi there. I thouroghly researched the best shoe to wear on my 17 day Hajj Pilgramage to Saudi Arabia in December 09 and decided on the Westwater for its functionality as well as style. I was told repeatedly to "pack light" so I wanted a shoe that I could wear for anything; hiking, excessive walking, long wear etc. This shoe suited all of my needs and was so stylish to boot! I still wear it for work. It is just too adorable. It was very versatile, since I was in a country where I needed to remove my shoes frequently (for prayer) I wore them with the strap across the back and I was able to get in and out with ease, and they didn't flop off of my feet. I was able to wear them with a thin sock or footie as well. When it rained one day, they dried very quickly. On one day we were planning to hike a mountain and someone scoffed at my shoe and I showed them the bottoms with the great traction which allowed me to climb the hill without packing a pair of tennis shoes or hiking shoes. Even the insole of the shoe is made out of a great material so that my feet didn't slip and slide about inside the shoe. I preferred the solid brown color myself and it went with all of the outfits that I had taken to wear for the trip. I think it was kismet because not only did I find them last minute in my size and the exact color that I wanted, but they were the ONLY pair left at the REI store AND they were on clearance. The only con to this shoe was that the stap button worked TOO well. It was very difficult to unbutton one of the shoes and I had to pull and yank it so hard that I was often afraid that it would break completely...but they are still holding strong. Regarding sweat, my feet didn't sweat so much as feel clammy inside the shoe due to the material on the insole when I wore it without socks, but I think that has to do more with people's feet than the shoe. GREAT SHOE!

Comments about Teva Westwater Shoes - Women's:
I wore these shoes for pretty much 10 days straight while on a pilgrimage in Israel. I was going from trekking on rocky terrain and dirt roads to holy sites where I needed to look presentable and these shoes were just perfect.
They had great traction for slippery, ancient limestone roads and my feet did not sweat even in the desert heat. And, they looked great with skirts and capri-pants
One negative thing: After wading, the closed-toe portion was filled with water and I had to take them off to drain it out. They stayed damp for several hours too. But, they still had great traction on algae-covered stones and protected my feet and toes from sharp shells and rocks.
Also, the pair I bought did not have a removable strap--it was there to stay. Maybe I bought and older edition in the store?
All in all, they are great shoes and I would buy another pair in a heartbeat.

I fell in love with these shoes, but the snap closure kept coming undone!
These shoes are super, super cute (I wore them once and received two compliments!). They're also really comfortable, and can be worn with a variety of casual, sporty or trendy outfits. However, I had to return my pair because I worn them once and the snap came undone 6 times while wearing them. Perhaps i just had a faulty pair, but if you're thinking about these, I would recommend wearing them around the store (a lot) before purchasing.
Again - I LOVE the shoes, I just don't trust the snap closure (Note to Teva - please redesign and give it a button closure!)

Had a hard time choosing between the Keen Carmel and Teva Westwater. Keen Carmel is probably a better shoe but I liked the style of the Teva better for what I was looking for. The Westwater does seem a little flimsy and they don't stay on without the strap. The Teva also doesn't have much arch support. But I bought some black superfeet arches for them and they feel great! They are good for casual city walking. For longer hikes I would stick with my Keen Newports.

I like to slip these on when I need more coverage than sandles but would like something light and brezzy. Skirts or cropped pants. Great fit, comfortable, breathable, versatile strap so you can convert to strapless when you know your gonna have to slip on and go. I have done some serious off pavement walking it it seems fine. Strap is good for secure walking distances. Back of shoe styled like a semi sandle not open but not closed. It is slit for ventilation. Light weight and flat for packing in suitcase. The weakest part of the shoe I worry about is the snap strap with its not very sturdy elastic for movement. Nothing has gone wrong yet but I still worry about it.

Comments about Teva Westwater Shoes - Women's:
Great shoe for the price, very versatile. Can be used for most warm-weather outdoor activities, waterproof. Good traction for less intense landscapes (don't go rock climbing in these!). These shoes are extrememly comfortable and can be worn casually just around town. The only pitfall to these is they do take a long time to dry if they have been fully submerged in water. Easy to clean. Very satisfied with this purchase.

My wife's words:
If you can only bring one pair of shoes on a vacation, these are it. Comfortable, look great with a dress or pants, waterproof, durable, stylish. Outdoorsy and still feminine.

Comments about Teva Westwater Shoes - Women's:
These do seem to run a little short, but I couldn't buy a half size smaller than usual, because the front was too narrow for my foot (which is pretty wide). The mesh didn't really stretch enough for the smaller size to be comforable, so it's a little long on length, but good on width. This hasn't posed any problems so far (about 10 miles of walking), and these things are super comfortable without being silly looking. I even got a compliment from a coworker today.
