Comments about Novara Flirt Bike Capri Pants - Women's:
I was really stoked about the concept of this product -- a sturdy capri with an inner compression short. While this fulfills the basic premise, a few design issues:
a) Shouldn't a compression short compress? The inner short is far too loose.
b) The waist is way too loose, at least for me. This product is for a woman, not for a man, which far too many American clothing products fail to recognize.(Most women's waists dip in at the small of the back.) The waist features a buttons and tab adjust system for tightening the waist on the back, which looks really cute unless you actually have to use it, in which case you are left with a big awkward gap.
c) I worry that the fabric might not hold up well to mountain biking conditions. Maybe I am wrong here, but I would recommend this product for casual use only.
d) Back yoke seems designed to make your butt look bigger -- does any woman really want this, even a fit one?
Having griped, here are the things I like:
a) The compression short is removable -- way cool if you only need to wash the short in the sink so you can wear them again later, or to add your own short if you prefer. Nice.
b) Nice pretty deep pockets, although a bit deeper still would be good. The security pocket is a nice touch as well, and lays flat.
c) Stitched-in curves at the knees for pedaling comfort.
d) Cool looking blue on black stitching and embroidery detail. Styling!
e) The padding on the short might need to be a bit thicker for some of us, but it is strategically placed for female anatomy -- we can hurt there too, which some companies fail to recognize -- thanks!
I still like the concept, especially since I ride a lot as a commuter as well as for fitness. So, having a capri that I can wear mountain biking or wear cycling to brunch or to run errands (rather than show up in shorter or tighter shorts to a nice restaurant or coffee house) is something I have been waiting years for, literally. If these design issues are addressed, I think that REI/Novara will have a winner on their hands!

Comments about Novara Flirt Bike Capri Pants - Women's:
I really liked these capris. I used them yesterday during a mountain bike ride, and will add a comment to the previous poster regarding questions of durability.
Since it was my first outing in 2009, I was a bit rusty and fell going over logs a few times..thought for sure I would've ripped these capris, but they were in tact and came through unscathed.
I like my bike shorts on the larger side so I have room to move, so I bought them a little big rather than for a precise fit.
If I have any complaints, the inner liner thing is funky and seems kind of big, but I'm willing to overlook that at this point because overall I really enjoyed wearing these during yesterday's ride.

Comments about Novara Flirt Bike Capri Pants - Women's:
Most importantly--they fit my body style! I have a small waist relative to my big hips--I tried on 10 different versions of biking shorts/pants and these actually fit me proportionally!! Also, I love that I can separate out the padding from the Capri pants. The Capri pants are stylish and fun for any recreational activity. I can wear the padded liner with other pants too. Excellent!
