Comments about Mountain Hardwear Helion 2 Tent:
I bought this for backpacking, because I like keeping the weight down. In my opinion this tent is a too small for two. I'm 5'10" and my girlfriend is 5'5", and we had no room to spare and were bumping into the sides of the tent. I wish the tent was just a little wider, even if it adds more weight.
Compounding the problem is the tight fly. It hugs the canopy along the tent sides, touching the canopy - which means the canopy gets wet in the rain. And since there is no way to avoid touching the sides of the tent if you are two people, you end up with a wet sleeping bag. There are some extra loops along the sides of the fly which allows you to stake it out more tightly to alleviate this problem, but in the end I feel they cut corners in the design in order to shave off every last ounce of weight from the tent.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Helion 2 Tent:
I purchased this tent because of how lightweight and how small the pack size is....it didn't let me down. In fact, the pack size is really 8" x 12". I like the fact I can drop this tent into my backpack and still have plenty of room for my other supplies. This is the perfect tent for long trips into the wilderness.
I felt there was plenty of room. I'm 6'1" and my girlfriend is 5'10". The vestibule is huge and you can store backpacks, boots and cooking utensils with ease.
This tent is very well built and handles rain, snow and wind perfect.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Helion 2 Tent:
Pros: Lightweight; pack size is truly awesome; and it's made just like any other MH product.
Cons: Two small for two folks; fly must be staked at head, foot, and sides; expensive.
Ok, I know a tent can't be both easy and difficult to set up so let me explain.
To save weight, Mountain Hardwear used plastic rings instead of clips to attach the tent body to the poles. This means that you have to run the poles thru the rings during set up. Saves a bit of weight, adds a bit of time and complexity to this tent.
Also, it can't be both comfy and cramped, so I'll explain that too.
I bought this for solo backpacking because I like having a little extra space to spread out (I'm 5'11, and about 160lbs). For me, this tent is one of the most beautiful shelters I've ever used. Long enough that your head and feet are not rubbing the tent, well ventilated(no condensation...ever), stuff pockets are large and close at hand, center loop is perfect for my Orbit lantern, and my pack swallows this tent so well that I worry that I've forgotten to pack it.
It's just not big enough for my needs as a two person tent. I've tried to get both myself and my girlfriend in this tent and it's just to tight. Two people can lay down without much trouble, but how do you get in/out without stepping on each other? You can't really sit upright at the same time, and if you toss and turn at night, you can forget about two person comfort! This tent is 45 inches wide at the head of the tent. NOT AT THE SHOULDERS! With most sleeping pads at 20 inches wide, well, you do the math.
I think this tent should be marketed as a wonderful one person backpacking palace, not as a two person tent. Buy this tent for spacious one man use. Find something bigger for two.

i bought this tent for 1 person, but have used it for 2 people and we slept comfortably in it. i got caught in a rain storm in the tent and stayed dry in the tent, i was even able to touch the sides of the tent and no water came in.
overall an excellent tent.
