Comments about Outdoor Research Revel Rain Jacket - Men's:
I use this jacket for my walk to and from work, and for hiking. Unlike other unlined raincoats I've worn, this one does not produce a clammy feeling against my bare arms when it is warm and humid. It also breathes very well. The material is soft and somewhat stretchy, and much quieter than the stiff material found in other rain jackets. The fit is athletic, but with ample room for layering. As others have mentioned, the pit zips which go all the way down to the hem are great.
This jacket also features a great system for stowing the hood. While many rain jackets use a simple velcro tab to hold the rolled up hood, this jacket features a zippered compartment around the outside of the collar that holds the hood. The inside of the collar is also lined with a nice, soft material, making it comfortable when fully zipped up.

Comments about Outdoor Research Revel Rain Jacket - Men's:
I've been wearing this jacket every day for the last 4 months. It's really light weight, and doesn't have that plastic feel that many other waterproof jackets have. It handles wind and rain well, and I love that the pit zips open all the way to the waist. The hood adjusts well. It does limit some peripheral vision, as all hoods do, but I like that it keeps the rain off my glasses, which many hoods don't. The jacket travels well since it packs down so small. I have a big 3-ply gore tex jacket, but I haven't worn it since I got this. Since I haven't had it that long, I don't know about long-term durability, but having got me through a Seattle winter it's a definite keeper. It reminds me of a high tech version of the wind breakers I used to wear as a kid (only this jacket keeps me dry!)

Comments about Outdoor Research Revel Rain Jacket - Men's:
Very nice jacket and decent price. I looked for along time and decided that OR was among the few brands that fit my body type (5'6" and stocky). All the zippers are great for venting or to just sit down without the jacket bunching up. With this in ming though, I'm a little shocked that the overall length in the body is a little bit shorter than I would like in a rain jacket. Wish is was just an inch longer. Fit and finish are really good. Looks good. It's been raining A LOT these past couple of months and every chance, I grab my OR jacket and run outside. It is truly waterproof and highly breathable. I don't overdo it on the layering if I'm going to be really active but there's enough room if I wanted to wear a thicker fleece. The hood is a really good snug fit, even over a hat. I definitely prefer the laminate construction and materials for waterproofing over something that is just sprayed on the surface. Oh yeah, I also really like the added insurance of the flaps over the zippers. I'm really glad I bought it.

Comments about Outdoor Research Revel Rain Jacket - Men's:
There are some features I really like about this jacket. I really like the hem to arm pit zippers which allow incredible ventilation. The main front zipper is two way, so you can pull it up for even more ventilation. I like the way the hood stows inside the collar for every day casual use. I like the headphone cord opening on the inside pocket which is great for my daily walks. The jacket kept me dry in the one instance I took it in the rain. It also folds up pretty small. The left inside pocket can be used to store the jacket inside itself. My biggest gripe is the pertex lining. I don't like way it feels against the back of my neck. When I first put it on in the store it was fine, but after couple hours in the sun, I sweat a little bit and it feels very uncomfortable. It's not a hard chafing against my neck or anything like that, it's just the way it sticks to the skin, making it feel kind of clammy. It's bad enough that I'm going to try to take the jacket back. I'm kind of picky so take my review with a grain of salt. I do plan to get the pertex rain pants. Those are designed (I think) to go over your regular pants so they will not be in contact with my skin. Pertex is lightweight and good fabric for waterproof, but it doesn't make a good jacket for me.
