Comments about MSR Hubba Hubba HP Tent:
This tent is awesome. We had the Hubba Hubba and upgraded to the HP. The main difference that we like is that MSR had put in more of the rip-stop material in inplace of the mesh. The advantages of this are huge. The tent was warmer at night, it keeps more sand out, and you are able the run it without the rain fly in good weather. Pay the extra and get the HP. It is worth it

Comments about MSR Hubba Hubba HP Tent:
I use this tent as a solo. I am 6'4" and 220. Would be big enough for me and another small person. I used this tent for the first time on a 3 day in the Alaskan bush. It put up with heavy thunderstorms, and some gusty wind. After the rain there was no condensation on the inside of the tent despite the additional material. there was condensation on the inside of the rain fly. I had to pitch it twice to get it taught, but it stayed taught once pitched correctly. When I first took the tent out before I fielded it, the thin stakes worried me, but I drove them into rocky sand with my boot as hard as i could and they did not bend. The tent dried quickly in the sun the next day, and stowed very easily. Great tent.

Comments about MSR Hubba Hubba HP Tent:
Tent is great for Spring and Fall.
The regular Hubba Hubba is better for summer because its all mesh on top.
In the winter this tent has problems because the many vents (mesh windows) can not be closed, this means that strong winds can blow snow drift from under the tarp and into the tent.
For winter, the best light tent is the Mountain Hardwear Spire 2. The spire is fully closed and has a much higher ceiling, which is important for changing into and out of bulky clothing in the winter.
This is the best spring and fall tent.

I camped in Hawaii with this tent, it is very light and travels well. I have also slept in this tent in a snow storm, it is warm and keeps the wind out
This the best tent I have ever owned

Comments about MSR Hubba Hubba HP Tent:
I have waited three years to write this review, using the tent in a wide variety of conditions. I have used it in: Alaska, Arizona, New Mexico, Montana, Wyoming, California, Colorado and it has performed amazingly. My tent has seen downpours, windstorms, unexpected snowstorms and held up through them all. The only problem I have had was a broken pole (it snagged the back of my jacket and broke on my way in). [...] I am from Alaska and camp in rainy conditions on a regular basis, no problems with waterproofing. While in Arizona I camped and experienced 40mph gusts with minimal wind disturbance. Colorado dropped 6 inches of snow which actually insulated the tent a bit. One of the great features is sleeping without the fly, a tent with a mesh construction lets you watch the stars as you fall asleep. I would highly recommend this tent, I have tried the Mountain Harware Airjet 2 which was also nice, but I like the dual doors and vestibules of the Hubba Hubba.

Comments about MSR Hubba Hubba HP Tent:
Have used this tent many times now, and am still impressed. Kept my girlfriend and I warm on cold & windy nights in AK, and dry more than a few times here in WA. Set up and packing it away again is simple and fast. Very light once packed and if you get the additional footprint (highly recommended as well) it slides right into the stuff sack with the rest. Lots of neat features, I find something else to love about it every time I pitch it.

Very lightweight design is great. More privacy than the Hubba Hubba when used without the fly. Easy to setup and take down.

Comments about MSR Hubba Hubba HP Tent:
Wow. I have not even used the tent in the backcountry, I set it up in the backyard. Wow. The attention to detail is awesome. Love the pole in grommet type of set up.Way better than one way sleeves. I love the way the fly attaches to the tent also by pole grommets. The tent is light, super easy to set up. The poles are very lightweight, strong but abit awkward. I cant wait to get it out.No broken buckles here. {see review of rei arete tent, if they print it.} Msr gives you ALL the stakes needed{hint hint rei}.You even get a gear loft. This tent will last for years. More coming when I take it out on her maiden voyage. Happy Trails

Comments about MSR Hubba Hubba HP Tent:
My husband took this tent out for the first time and it blew away (50 mph gusts) while setting it up in the mountains in AK. It was dark and so they couldn't find it and thought it was going to be long gone, so they slept under the tarp. The next day they found it 3/4 of a mile down the mountain with pretty much no damage at all. We used this in a night of constant rain and had a little leakage but maybe because the fly wasn't pitched taut enough. Had it in some steady winds of 20 mph (air temps around 50 F or more) and it held up fine but it was a bit cold. The material seems a little flimsy, but I think it must be strong if it was blown away and there was only one very small tear in the mesh part (2 mm). This tent + tarp weighs about 4 lbs if you get rid of the extra stuff sacks and spare parts. So far I think this is a good tent.

Comments about MSR Hubba Hubba HP Tent:
The HP weathered 11 nights on the Stikine River (B.C.) with 40 to 50 mph wind and a fair amount of rain. All bets would be off if the tent is not pitched near perfectly.
