Comments about The North Face Windwall 1 Vest - Men's:
This vest is great. It offers more wind protection than traditional fleece without the fluffy bulk. I like the sizing because for an XL it's still a normal length rather than also being extra tall. The armholes are a little small for the size though, if I wear anything but a T-shirt under it, things get puckered around the shoulders. I also like the short collar, it's short enough to not fold over, and stands up without reaching the jaw and chin, so it's easy to comfortably zip up all the way. Unlike the arm holes, the neck is plenty roomy for the size.

Comments about The North Face Windwall 1 Vest - Men's:
Vest breathes well, and keeps the wind off you. I found it is perfect for those days with rapid wind change or going from overcast to sun. I use it mainly hiking and light backpacking. It has held up well so far.

Comments about The North Face Windwall 1 Vest - Men's:
I replaced my Mountain Hardwear vest with this one. The color selection was better and the North Face sizing fit much better. I have always had good results with any NF gear I have had. The price was very good and I even got it on sale. I look for many years of use with this vest.

Comments about The North Face Windwall 1 Vest - Men's:
I use this daily, as well as on adventure trips. Despite no sleeves it keeps me surprisingly warm, and doesn't let air through, which is the problem w/ other fleeces I have used. There are definitely warmer fleeces, but when layering with a coat I am comfortable down to single digits.
Like all NFace products I have owned it is made of top quality materials in a very stylish and durable build. I'm comfortable wearing it around town, school, as well as in the outdoors.
Fits a bit larger than expected - could have gone a size smaller than usual, but kept it at my typical size in order to have lots of room for layering.
Only con: doesn't breath particularly well. But then it is supposed to block wind . . .
Awesome Buy.

Comments about The North Face Windwall 1 Vest - Men's:
I didn't buy this vest for WARMTH. It is very stylish and good for cool weather, not COLD weather. Works nicely for light windbreaker. Very pleased with the vest.

Comments about The North Face Windwall 1 Vest - Men's:
Typical great North Face quality construction, however this vest provides little warmth retention. Some wind protection, but not enough to offset its lack of maintaining core warmth. Save your money, buy a warmer vest and use a shell or light jacket over it. The REI Woodland or Muir Woods Fleece Vests are significantly warmer when layered than this product layered and its wind protection hardly offsets for the lack of warmth. I returned it to REI after my first cold hike with it, and yes, it was windy that day!

Comments about The North Face Windwall 1 Vest - Men's:
I use this product with long sleeve shirts underneath and also underneath a bigger jacket when it's extra cold. Zippers are great, but the hand pockets could be more angled and less deep.
