Comments about REI Stoke 19 Pack - Women's:
I received this backpack in the mail and immediately took it out for a three hour mountain bike ride. It was perfect! Just enough room for a few spare tools and a spare tube, lots of snacks, an extra layer or two - not to mention a full hydration bladder! It was a hot day, and the best part for me was the breathability - the eggcrate back really minimizes that sticky back feeling you get sometimes from wearing a backpack. I'm looking forward to taking this pack trail running - it's got a cord that compresses the contents, which minimizes that bounciness you can get while running with a pack on.
Other bonuses:
- small zippered pockets on the hip strap, perfect for snacking while riding
- a built in whistle on the chest strap
- color and style, of course, it looks cool!
I was tempted to buy the men's version of this pack because I'm tall (5'11"), but went with the women's anyway. It seems to fit me well, but I would order the men's version if you're over 6'.
Overall, this is a great minimalist pack. Really lighweight and perfect for lots of different activities, from running and biking to hiking and backcountry fly fishing.

Comments about REI Stoke 19 Pack - Women's:
I just love this bag!! At first I wasn't completely sold, but then I started loading it with my gear. I purchased the Camelbak 2 liter reservoir which works great and is top gear rated. I found it had the perfect amount of room for a day hike, kayaking, mountain biking, snowshoeing or cross country skiing. It is super comfortable. It doesn't bounce. I am very pleased. I even take it for shopping trips when I am walking a bit of a distance and want my hands free!

Comments about REI Stoke 19 Pack - Women's:
I've been using this backpack on long city walks with the pooch. I load it up with 20 lbs and hike up and down the San Francisco hills. It's a good fit, securely fastens and is easily adjustable. I like the belt pockets for dog treats and keys. It's a perfect size for day hikes!

Comments about REI Stoke 19 Pack - Women's:
This bag was the ideal buy for me. It is great for my day hikes in the mountains. It is roomy enough to fit everything. I can’t use a reservoir because I have to carry water for my dogs and this bag can hold four large Nalgene bottles (with the mesh pockets on the sides) along with everything else. I love the pockets on the belt strap. The only thing I wish it had was some straps on the sides to attached things I don’t want to put in the bag, like my bear repellent.

Comments about REI Stoke 19 Pack - Women's:
I am petite so I need a small light pack. This one is however, disappointing.
con 1: the side mesh pockets are too small to fit a nalgene or any reuseable water bottle. this along makes this pack useless for me
con 2: the backpack is narrow and long. it would be easier to pack and more comfortable if it is a little wider.

Comments about REI Stoke 19 Pack - Women's:
I love the look of this pack, the fact that it is so light (yet still has room for a hydration bladder), and that it seems well made. However, I find myself looking to replace mine with a men's daypack b/c this one is just too short for my longer torso. Now, I'm not extremely tall (5'7"), and have purchased REI women's packs before (the Lookout), but this pack was definitely too short for me from shoulders to waistbelt. I end up not using the waistbelt and just carrying all the weight on my shoulders; since it's a small pack and I don't carry a lot, this is fine for dayhikes. Definitely not fine for trail running or heavier loads/longer hikes, though. I'd urge taller women to consider the men's version of this pack (or go to the store and try it on first--something I should have done, but didn't have the luxury of doing at the time I needed to make the purchase).
