Comments about Mountain Hardwear Yuma Convertible Pants - Women's:
Looking for a hot weather pant for travel and some hiking. Read all the reviews and thought this would work! It's even billed as for hiking in the Arizona Desert!
These pants are HEAVY. They are thick and hot and do not breathe at all. They weigh a full 10 oz more than the REI convertible pants. The fit slim and that does not allow air to circulate well either.
These pants are nice for cooler/dryer climates. But I would not want to be walking around Hong Kong in these during the summer. Yikes! If they could thin out the material - they would be a perfect pant.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Yuma Convertible Pants - Women's:
I got these for a trip that covered a lot of conditions, from mountains to jungle. Because they are a bit stretchy, wearing them over long underwear was no problem. They were great for the jungle, too, where the humidity was beyond absurd. Very flattering (which I can't say about any other zip-off pants on the planet), and they never seem to look rumpled or dirty. Hint for hemming: take up the extra length just below the zip-off zipper. The new seam will be hidden and you still keep the hidden ankle cinch.

I was looking for a pant that I could wear hiking. Glad I found these!! They sit lower on the waste like modern jeans, which I was looking for, are very comfortable and lite. The waist fit right at the bottom of my pack belt. These run a little small and long. I like pants a little longer so they are okay. I'm 5'3", 122lbs and wear a size 4 R at GAP. I went with a 6, which fit good with just enough room (they are a little stretchy)to add a layer.

I have bought and tried multiple brands of hiking pants, including North Face and Columbia. Nothing compares to the comfort of these pants. I am 5ft 10 and the inseam is perfect. They are stretchy and allows free movement! Climbing bolders, to hiking, to backpacking, these pants rock. Don't waste your time or money with any other brand.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Yuma Convertible Pants - Women's:
What to say that hasn't already been said. I too love these pants. I've had them for almost a year and wear them for work, around town, and hiking. Zip off the bottoms and they're great for biking too. The fabric is heavier than some but worth a little extra weight in toughness and versatility. These are THE most COMFORTABLE convertible pants I've ever tried. The zippers are low enough they don't chaff your inner leg, sewn well enough you don't notice the conversion point, and the cargo pockets keep a supper-flat profile empty or full without sacrificing capacity. Zippers and pulls are awesome and never get stuck easily opening with one hand.
While I'd still bring rainpants if your in for rain, for everyday spills and trail splashes these shed water like a duck. I love the soft material around the hips so pack straps don't leave rivet-bruises on your hip bones. I just wish it came in odd sizes. A 9 would fit just right. I'm 5'7" and 145 lbs. The 10 fits ok but I can't get it to shrink and the 8 is too small. I like that they're a long fit. Regulars are usually a bit short on me but these cover the tops of my boots nicely.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Yuma Convertible Pants - Women's:
I took several pairs of pants with me on my back country hiking trip in Utah and wore these pants the whole time! In warm weather they breathe and zip off, in cold weather they are warm (wore them with long underwear underneath). They seem to be water repellent, stayed clean the whole 5 day trip as dirt doesn't stick to them. They have drawstrings at the hem so you can roll up and sinch for river crossings, convenient to not have to zip off or hold them up. I will be buying more of these!

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Yuma Convertible Pants - Women's:
I love these pants. I have gotten so many compliments on them everywhere I go and they are so comfy. I can't wait to buy another pair but I can't justify the expense right now.
Quick pros:
water resistant
soft on waist
large pockets that zip
easily convert
can wear more than once in a row with no problems
don't snag or tear easily, even when dealing with multiple, jumping, labs!
Quick cons:
not warm (also a pro, time of year dependent)
fabric catches when I haven't shaved, making that feel uncomfortable
just a tiny bit too long (I'm 5'4) but the petites would also be too short
only two pockets
Overall I recommend giving these pants a try!

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Yuma Convertible Pants - Women's:
I bought these pants to replace a very well used pair of North Face convertables. Went hiking, got caught in a downpour. The pants shed water until they soaked, but then were still amazingly comfortable, as the stretch fabric allowed them to move with me (instead of sticking!). They then dried out fairly quickly once the rain subsided. I'll be using these for hiking, travel, everyday wear. They are a little long on me, but I have a short inseam, so am not complaining. I remedy this by wearing with hiking boots/shoes. I will be ordering a second pair. Buy these, wear them OUT, and have fun!

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Yuma Convertible Pants - Women's:
I normally wear size 10 pants and I got these in an 8 for a closer fit. I use the drawstring to perfect the fit. I love that they hit below the knee as cut-offs. They dry quickly (unlike the cotton underwear underneath - Doh!). Great amount of stretch. Side pockets are great for cameras, cell phone, etc. I think the fabric weight on these is great. Overall happy camper. I never get more than one pair of hiking pants at time but I bought the olive and now I want a black pair.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Yuma Convertible Pants - Women's:
These are great convertible pants because they don't look like you're going out on safari. The material is thick like a cotton twill, so the fabric looks very tailored, rather than wrinkled and baggy. I purchased the black pair, and they could easily be worn in a chic urban setting.
Unfortunately, these are going back. I am 5'2" tall, and they run too long. The bottoms have a drawcord to cinch them if you roll them up, so getting them hemmed will either lose the drawcord or cost more than necessary. It is a pity that they do not run in petite lengths. But they would probably look good with high heels!
