Comments about Mountain Hardwear Yuma Convertible Pants - Women's:
I have bought and tried multiple brands of hiking pants, including North Face and Columbia. Nothing compares to the comfort of these pants. I am 5ft 10 and the inseam is perfect. They are stretchy and allows free movement! Climbing bolders, to hiking, to backpacking, these pants rock. Don't waste your time or money with any other brand.

I was looking for a pant that I could wear hiking. Glad I found these!! They sit lower on the waste like modern jeans, which I was looking for, are very comfortable and lite. The waist fit right at the bottom of my pack belt. These run a little small and long. I like pants a little longer so they are okay. I'm 5'3", 122lbs and wear a size 4 R at GAP. I went with a 6, which fit good with just enough room (they are a little stretchy)to add a layer.

I took several pairs of pants with me on my back country hiking trip in Utah and wore these pants the whole time! In warm weather they breathe and zip off, in cold weather they are warm (wore them with long underwear underneath). They seem to be water repellent, stayed clean the whole 5 day trip as dirt doesn't stick to them. They have drawstrings at the hem so you can roll up and sinch for river crossings, convenient to not have to zip off or hold them up. I will be buying more of these!

Looking for a hot weather pant for travel and some hiking. Read all the reviews and thought this would work! It's even billed as for hiking in the Arizona Desert!
These pants are HEAVY. They are thick and hot and do not breathe at all. They weigh a full 10 oz more than the REI convertible pants. The fit slim and that does not allow air to circulate well either.
These pants are nice for cooler/dryer climates. But I would not want to be walking around Hong Kong in these during the summer. Yikes! If they could thin out the material - they would be a perfect pant.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Yuma Convertible Pants - Women's:
Been looking for "cargo" pants with style, bought these even tho' I was skeptical. I've found them to be my favorite pant! Love them! Great to travel, shop, hike, or hang out in. Just bought another.
The pants are contoured & fit well, they are stylish even when you cinch up the drawstring. The fabric is be a bit heavier than most pants but it holds it's great shape & is less prone to wrinkle! (come out of my travel bag unwrinkled.) The pockets are perfect. Stuff them full & still feel comfortable, the legs still look slim & feel roomy, your movement is not restricted -not even when sitting. The zippers have strings & zip REAL easily with one hand.
Traveled to San Antonio & planned to zip the legs off to get more air but I wasn't too hot so I never did, the leg is roomy and even with the heavier fabric I was not uncomfortable in the humidity.
Oh, one more thing, the fabric sheds water, lots of water! Someone "accidently" sprayed me with water & it just rolled off of the pants.
The ONLY thing it doesn't have that I wish it did is a small pocket for change that zips...but I sew...it will.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Yuma Convertible Pants - Women's:
These are great convertible pants because they don't look like you're going out on safari. The material is thick like a cotton twill, so the fabric looks very tailored, rather than wrinkled and baggy. I purchased the black pair, and they could easily be worn in a chic urban setting.
Unfortunately, these are going back. I am 5'2" tall, and they run too long. The bottoms have a drawcord to cinch them if you roll them up, so getting them hemmed will either lose the drawcord or cost more than necessary. It is a pity that they do not run in petite lengths. But they would probably look good with high heels!

I bought these for long hiking trips. I had searched a long time for the longer short. These are perfect. Fit great (when I bought the smaller size - who can complain about that!), look good off the trail and stayed clean.
My only complaint - why don't they have more colors! I would like 3 or 4 pairs.

These pants have ruined me for ever being able to happily wear my other brands ie North Face, Prana...
The fit and comfort is fantastic. The draw cord ankle is wonderful for climbing. The waist never binds carrying a pack and they don't scream " I've been on the trail all day" when you go to town. Super light weight and quick drying.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Yuma Convertible Pants - Women's:
I took two pairs of these on a recent trip to Peru. They were perfect. I tried on every type of pant available at an REI store and these were the only ones with a good fit for me. I have a smallish waist and these did not gap at the waist.
They have a flat ribbon drawstring closure that is ingeniously designed with a loop and snap so they are easy to wear and they have soft chamois inside at the waistline. They were comfortable and adjustable even while wearing a money belt for travel. The side zip pockets were a great place for my daily spending money so that I didn't have to get into my money belt for small purchases and they felt secure enough that I didn't worry about being pick-pocketed.
I could hand-wash these with shampoo in the sink in the evening and hang them to dry and they were ready to wear or pack by morning.
I didn't end up using the zip off feature due to the weather, but it is nice to know it's there for future use.

I wear these pants whenever I can, outdoors and at home, and have them in two colors. I have similar shorts too. I am a good size 14 and these pants, especially the black ones, are actually slimming, and are the most comfortable pants I've ever worn. I love the drop waist. The best part is that they move with you. The fabric is awesome. YOU WILL LOVE THESE PANTS. And they are worth every penny.
