The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about The Needles: A Climber's Guide to the Black Hills Needles:
The Needles Guide book by Zach Orenczak and Rachael Lynn/Extreme Angles Publishing was the least informative guide book I've utilized. I would avoid at all costs. It is a very beautiful book that does has humor but should be reserved for only a coffee table. The locals refer to the book as "the toilet paper" guide book but the glossy pages make it even inconvenient for that. Gear advise, routes, and ratings have been known to even be wrong. Instead of using the pages for photos of routes and areas they thought it to be more important for numerous pages of cartoons. South Dakota Needles: Adventure Climbs of Herb and Jan Conn. by Lindsay Stephens is an amazing book. (light, to the point, and full of useful beta such as accurate topo's). This is much more cost effective and has many more routes. Also, stop by Sylvan Rocks for great beta, conversation, and great locally comprised guide books. P.S. Extreme Angles Publishing does other areas such as Devil's Tower, Vedauwoo and more. I made the mistake of purchasing the Devil's Tower one as well. I have the same feelings for its level of info quality to cost ratio like their Needles book. If anyone sees Zach tell him I want my [$] back for the two "guide" books.

Comments about The Needles: A Climber's Guide to the Black Hills Needles:
The flashy full-color illustrations lured me into buying this guide, and that was a mistake. I disliked it, and all the locals i talked to disliked it as well.upon arriving at the needles i began searching for the cathedral spires but became quite lost as the illustrations don't quite resemble the formations enough to get you there, the directions are vague, and the only photos of the formations are taken from an aerial view, which is quite useless when you're on the ground attempting to identify between over 300 granite spires.the only thing this guide helped us do was locate climbs that were pictured from the road or adjacent to parking lots. you'll get better beta for free from [@]
