Comments about Marin Redwood Bike:
very nice, I would buy again. If you are looking for a mix between the typical mountain bike and a hybrid/commuter then this is it. The components on this bike are also a higher quality then your typical comfort or hybrid. I have put about 350 miles on it so far and am very satisfied. I am also a big guy, at 6'2" and 250lbs, this bike is very sturdy for a big framed person but still agile.

Comments about Marin Redwood Bike:
I would reccommend this bike to anyone. I am not a expert but after a good deal of research I found this an excellent value. I am going to buy one for for my wife (who keeps using mine). The suspension makes it comfortable, the seat is easy on my posterior, the bike is stable and the brakes are really powerfull.
My wife wanted to start riding about a year ago so I bought two no-name bikes from a local bike shop, on sale. Mine was a non-geared bike, hers was a three speed. It had been 45 years since my last bike and I didn't think I would use it much. To my suprise I did well and after a 30 mile ride on a non-geraed bike (you really don't want to do that) I started researching the matter and felt the Marin Redwood was my best value. I am now doing 100 miles pretty much every week and have losing about a pound a week. My wife tried my bike and loved it so we are off!
There have been no quality issues with the bike at all just normal adjustments.

Comments about Marin Redwood Bike:
My first bike in ages and I am very happy with it. I have put 3 to 4 hundred miles on it with no issues.
I have made a few changes: added Topeak Explorer MTX Rack system to it, replaced the seat post with an Easton EA70 that allows for infinite tilt adjustments, a Brooks Flyer saddle as I couldn't get used to the "curve" profile of the Marin saddle, and Shimano M324 SPD pedals.
I use this bike mainly for fun rides / exercise on paved bike trails. It seems well made, has plenty of adjust-ability for different riding styles - a good value overall.
