The light was much brighter than I expected. I went with red, and at first thought it might be so bright that my dogs wouldn't like it. But, I put it on their d-ring and they didn't squint, didn't seem to care in the least. Also, clips on really well - no sticking like some poorly made carabiners.

Makes the pups exceptionally visible - we were never further apart than 250ft but they could still easily be seen.

One word of caution - if you squeeze it and release, it will turn on, but then turn off after about 30 seconds. You have to squeeze and hold for about 10 seconds for it to turn on until turned off. Nite Ize's customer service was very good at explaining that but I didn't see it on the packaging.

I have a very high energy Vizsla that needs ample off leash time. This light is small enough to hang on his collar, bright enough to see a few hundred yards, and has been bouncing around off my dogs neck for six months now and it's still going strong on it's original batteries. Highly recommend!

I really liked this light, but after about two hours total run time, it went out. As another reviewer said, it is a great bright light while it works, but it stops working very quickly. Frustrating because now I'm stuck returning it, etc. I'd pay more for something with better staying power if I could find it.

Purchased one of these last year. Was bright and was visible for a good distance. Only used for walks in early morning and late night for about a week then batties died. Thought maybe old batteries so I replaced them. Again, only lasted a week and would not light again. Walks only lasted about 20min each time. Would be a great product if there was some life to it.
I now have a black schnauzer and really need something like this for night outings.

I bought this for our new Greyhound since I walk her at night and worried about not being seen. The light is very bright, and doesn't seem to bother the dog at all. As an added benefit, since it's clipped to her harness at her chest level, it's perfect for illuminating the ground just ahead of us, making it easy for both of us to see uneven pavement of other obstructions in our path when we're between street lights. I'd absolutely buy another when we get our second Greyhound.

I had tried this light a few times around the house and yard to make sure I knew how to use it and that it would last. I may have not done a long enough trial because when I got out backpacking it was useless. The light turned on just fine but with a slight shake, which it would do the whole time on the dog, it would just shut off. The light would stay on if just stationary but that is not what I bought the light for.

This product does not last long. To replace the battery costs just as much as buying a new light. It will also turn off for no apparent reason, a huge problem owning a black lab and running in the dark.

It sure LOOKED like a great design. The clip looked durable but somehow the metal broke opposite the latch. I also found the latch opening kind of small. When I tried to get it off my dog's metal ring, my finger would get in the way as it pushed on the latch. Putting the light on the ring is a breeze and it's secure.

On the coldest days, I couldn't get it to stay on. I also bought the smaller Nite Ize flying disc for fetching but that failed to turn on after a short time, even with new batteries. Nite Ize sent me a replacement disc (the wrong size) and that failed too. I'm not a fan of the technology.

I bought this light to use on my 11lb dog for walking at night. I live in the city and this light is perfect for making my dog be easily seen by motorists. It's bright, a good size and has an easy on/off clip that is durable. I can't tell you how many comments I've gotten in the neighborhood on this light...I only wish REI would give me some commission for directing people to this product! :) I intend to also use this light during camping trips. It's def worth the[$].

This product is great. We went backpacking with our Yorkie in an area with a lot of ferns. At night, we couldn't see him at all. This light with bright enough to see him no matter where he wondered off to. We won't go on another backpacking trip without it.
